Annamalai University BFSc admission 2023 will start soon. Bachelor of Fisheries Science, BFSc is a four-year program, offered in a regular mode by the Faculty of Marine Sciences, Annamalai University. Applicants will be called for admission counselling as per the merit list prepared on the basis of Class 12 scores in the required subjects.

Annamalai University BFSc Eligibility Criteria

Aspirants seeking admission to the Bachelor of Fisheries Sciences course of Annamalai University must satisfy the below-mentioned eligibility criteria:

The candidate should be a citizen of India.
Candidates must have passed 10+2 or HSC from CBSE or any other recognized Indian Board.
The candidate must have studied Biology, Zoology, or Botany with a minimum mark of 60 out of 100.
The candidate must have studied Chemistry or Physics with a minimum mark of 60 out of 100.
The aggregate of the HSC exam should not be less than 70 per cent.
For candidates from the vocational stream, Biology along with any subject from fisheries or agricultural sciences must be studied compulsorily with a minimum aggregate of 65 per cent.
Candidates can apply only twice for admission to this course. However, candidates belonging to SC/ST and another backward committee can apply thrice for the same.
The age of the candidate must not exceed 21 at the time of application.
Relaxation of 5% marks is provided to students from SC/ ST/ SCA/ MBC/ DNC and other underprivileged groups.

Annamalai University accepts board exam scores of the 10+2 Exam conducted by different recognized Indian boards.
Applicants are shortlisted based on the cut-off set by the administration every year.
The final selection is based on the candidate’s combined performance in 10+2 exam scores and past academic records.
Candidates who meet the above-mentioned criteria will further be required to appear for counselling divided into different rounds.

Annamalai University BFSc Course Details

Annamalai University offers the Bachelor of Fisheries Sciences program for a duration of 4 years (s) comprising 8 semesters. The course provides students with skills required for their future studies or career in a related field. Students who want to pursue the course have to complete it on a classroom basis.

All the courses are offered on a full-time and classroom basis only. There is no provision of part-time and distance courses for this course.

BFSc Program Structure:

Course Structure: The maximum duration granted to complete the Bachelor of Fisheries Sciences course is 5 years. The minimum number of working days in the even semesters shall be 75 days. In the odd semesters, there shall be a minimum of 50 working days. The scheme and syllabi of all semesters till the 7th semester are assigned by college administrations whereas, students will always be eligible to choose a course of their own choice (during in-plant training).

Attendance: Candidates must maintain at least 75% attendance in the entire coursework to eligible for end term examinations

Assessments: Students are assessed based on their performance in internal examinations, assignments such as homework, problem-solving, group discussions, quiz, literature survey, seminar, term-project, etc.

End Term Examinations: Candidates who secure not less than 40% marks in end term examinations will be considered to pass in that semester. Students are provided with elective courses during the final semester of coursework where they can select courses of their own choice.
