Sheridan College Admission Decision

The admission decisions for the majority of the programs starting in September are generally released on November 1 of the previous year. The admission decision for programs that have additional requirements such as portfolio, resume auditions, will be released in March, 2023.

All students receiving admission decisions are advised to confirm their offer by May 1, 2023 and pay tuition fee deposit at least three months before the program commencement.

Sheridan College Admissions: Selection Criteria

Sheridan College acceptance rate is 65%, as it follows moderately selective admission processes. Majority of graduate programs require an academic average of 60-65% and are less competitive than undergraduate programs. The highly competitive undergraduate programs require an aggregate of 85% or above while some others generally require an overall high school average of 75-80%. However students must target an academic average above the minimum requirement to improve their chances for admission as just meeting minimum requirements does not guarantee admission.

With averagely competitive admissions, admission to Sheridan College can be difficult especially for undergraduate applicants. The minimum requirements are higher for undergraduate courses as compared to graduate certificates and diplomas. Hence, students must prepare accordingly and maintain a strong academic profile to remain in the competitive edge.

I went to the Sheridan Hazel Mccallion campus in Mississauga. I was enrolled in the business administration-Human Resources program which was a two-year diploma program. During my time at Sheridan, I was guided by the career center for any career-related interests and resumes. There’s an international center that assured students of any concerns that international students may have. There are several groups where you can volunteer to gain some experience in event management, social work, and many other communities. It is a small campus but very accessible. I personally loved studying at the campus. There were study rooms and individual spaces to study. I spent most of my time at school during my time at Sheridan. When you are at Sheridan, all you have to do is to ask or reach out to those available resources and they will provide you guidance and make your life much easier. It was located in the city where I wanted to be and the college had good reviews and was known for business programs. I did my research online and also reached out to the international center before I could get admitted.

Scholarship:

No. But I was with the Home Depot working part-time where students working part-time had the opportunity to apply for tuition fee reimbursement for certain programs which paid $3000 per year. We had to work for a year or repay the money in case we decide to quit before we could complete one year with them. I was a student so I stayed with them until I finished school.

I choose this college because it is in Brampton and it is the closest to where I planned to live. The courses are easy and the diploma is easy to pass. The classes can be adjusted to 2 days a week and a 3-year work permit is also given after completing the diploma.

I applied to 3 colleges and I had my parents support me through all of it, in grade 12 my marks were in the high 80s, it was a long journey but I finally am doing what I wanted to do. It took me a while to figure out what I wanted to do because I didn't want to do something that I wouldn't be happy with. I wanted to do co-op in high school to figure out where I belong which I didn't but definitely my advice to other is that course really helps you out to figure where you want to be and what you want to do in the future.

Actually, it all started with accounting. I was interested to join the accounting field and I found a better opportunity to study it compare to my home country. Then I searched for college to get the best education. I read the reviews of the college and I tried to contact my other friends who were studying in the same college. I got the best comment on this college so I selected this College.

Because I have heard a lot about this college in India. Then my relatives told me about this college. I had also applied to Fanshawe college London but I was denied because I have no maths background in my 12th grade. I have searched on google about the courses based on science then I found this.

I had few friends who had taken admission one intake before in the same field so I got reviews from them. Secondly, I compare the cost of living in Brampton compared to colleges in Toronto and Thirdly, I checked for part-time jobs nearby. I did not have a very strong 12th background (70%). I also rectify my mistake and scored 3.76 out of 4 GPA in college.
