Institute of Engineering and Technology, Lucknow, also known as IET Lucknow, is a state government engineering college located in Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh, India. IET, Lucknow was established in the year of 1984. It is an autonomous constituent college of Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam Technical University (erstwhile Uttar Pradesh Technical University).

Institute of Engineering and Technology (IET) Lucknow offers the Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech) degree program with a number of different specialization subjects. The institute also accepts lateral entry (direct admission in second year) in all the B.Tech specializations.

To be eligible for the degree level engineering program, candidates should have passed 10+2 level examination with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics from any recognised board or university with a minimum aggregate of 45% marks.

Admission to B.Tech program is done through entrance exam named UPSEE conducted by Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam Technical University (AKTU) for admission in the B.Tech courses.

Key points regarding admission:

5% marks relaxation in the eligibility criteria will be given for the candidates belonging to SC and ST categories
The college also accepts 20% of total sanctioned candidates on the basis of JEE Main as per the State Govt. norms
For lateral admission candidates should have minimum 60% of marks in 3-4 years diploma from a recognized university sanctioned by U.P board of education

Institute of Engineering and Technology (IET) Lucknow also offers Master of Technology (M.Tech) program at the postgraduate level with two different specializations.

To be considered eligible for the postgraduate level engineering program, candidates must have a B.E /B.Tech degree in the relevant specialization and must have scored minimum of 60% marks in Graduate Degree examination in the relevant branch of engineering. Candidate should have completed B.Tech degree program from one of the U.P board of education sanctioned colleges.

Candidates meeting the eligibility criteria will have to appear in GATE.

In addition to the M.Tech program, the institute offers two postgraduate level courses focusing in the area of Business Administration and Computer Application leading to Master of Business Administration (MBA) and Master of Computer Application (MCA) degrees.

Candidates need to hold a three years bachelor’s degree in the relevant discipline, from a recognized university in order to get admission.

Admission to the MBA and MCA courses are through UPSEE. The final merit list is prepared considering the marks obtained in the entrance examination as well as in the previous qualifying examination.

Admissions here depend on your JEE score and are done under UPSEE counselling. After your seat is finalised you will be called to college to submit the required documents and fees. Cutoff ranges from almost 36000(Round 4 CSE(General)) to almost 102000(Round 4 Chemical (General)).

Admission:

Eligibility for admission to this college is to 1st you have to appear for the JEE MAINS Examination. As we talk about the application process we have to apply for jee mains examination on the NTA website, the fee for the application is 650Rs For the admission process, we have to appear in UPTU COUNSELING in order to get into this College. After counselling when You are allotted a college then after That You have to visit that college's website in order to get the details of the fee. And after that, we have to report to the college in order to complete the Admission process. If you are talking about the reservation for admission to the college, we have the first reservation in castes and second, we have the Home state quota as a reservation for the students who have completed their class 12th from the UP. As I talk about the improvement in the admission process is that they do take so much time in releasing their counselling dates and last year it's SPOT ROUND schedule was so hectic.

Admission:

I have taken admitted here through jee mains score. Jee mains is the exam conducted every year having fees of 1500. Here admission process is too simple by counselling on basis of jee mains score. I have not got any reservation benefits. According to my Now CUET is the entrance test conducted for admission here.

Ques. What is the status of IET Lucknow, and can I get admission there with a 1,750 rank in the UPSEE? In which branch?

Currently, IT Lucknow is considered the best college in Dr. A.P.J Abdul Kalam Technical University (AKTU). But it is way backward in terms of infrastructure and placements from its private counterparts. The non-core branches’ average placements hover around INR 4-5 lakhs per annum while that of core branches is virtually non-existent. The students are good as most of them were serious IITs and NITs aspirants before coming here. The students here can easily prepare for other competitive exams as coaching centers are nearby. Attendance is also fairly lenient and thus you will get ample time for your preparations. However, sometimes the administration may go hard if they feel like it. With a rank of 1750 in UPSEE, I think you can get electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, electronics and instrumentation engineering, civil engineering, and chemical engineering by 4th round. You may also get information technology and electronics and communications engineering by 5th round. Here are some of the things for which you can consider joining IET Lucknow – If you are not getting any NIT or GFTI. If your financial condition is not good (Being a government college it has a very nominal fee). If you do not want a heavy academic burden. If you are aiming for higher education and do not care about placements much. IET Lucknow is not a bad institute. IET Lucknow does not accept JEE Main score for their admission process. You must have a valid score in UPSEE to get a seat. In case you have not applied for UPSEE then you can try for HBTU Kanpur or Madan Mohan Malviya University of Technology (MMMUT), Gorakhpur. These colleges are almost at the same level as IET Lucknow and JEE Main scores are accepted here for admission.
