Samrat Ashok Technological Institute [S.A.T.I.], Vidisha, Madhya Pradesh, established in November 1960 with a donation from Gangajali Trust Fund. It is an autonomous institute, fully funded by the Government of Madhya Pradesh and managed by  Maharaja Jiwaji Rao Education Society. It is spread over an area of 85 acres surrounded by lush green natural surroundings. It has been accredited by the NAAC.

The Alumni of the institute work in companies like Larsen and Turbo, Microsoft, Infosys, Mahindra and Tata consultancy. Companies like Infosys, Tata consultancy, Synopsys, etc. provide placements to students of the institute. Admissions are based on the merit marks of JEE conducted by CBSE for undergraduate courses and post-graduation marks scored in GATE are considered.

S.A.T.I. Admission Procedure

Admissions to all B.Tech. and M.tech. courses in the institute are done by Directorate of Technical Education, Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh through the process of counseling. 

  • Admissions to B.Tech. courses

Students who’ve qualified the JEE exam are eligible for admission to B.Tech. courses subject to the place earned by them in the JEE Merit List and further subject to a system of choice and merit for courses as well as institutions through ONLINE OFF CAMPUS counseling organized by DTE, Bhopal.

All candidates have to furnish proof of their parents or themselves being bonafide residents of Madhya Pradesh.

Candidates seeking admission under a specific category or reservation need to furnish the proof of the same.
 

  • Admissions to Master’s courses ( M.Tech., M.B.A., M.C.A., M.Sc.):

MCA & MBA admissions are to be decided by M.P. Govt. based on an entrance test.

Admissions to courses in Engineering are done based on GATE and merit in other qualifying exams.

Admissions in M.Sc. Applied Sciences are given through a process of counseling based on merit.

S.A.T.I. Placements

The institute has a separate placement cell to deal with the placement procedures of the students. Various industries approach the institute for placements which can be categorized as:

  1. Core engineering industries,
  2. IT & IT-enabled services,
  3. Manufacturing Industries,
  4. Consultancy Firms,
  5. Finance Companies Management Organizations
  6. R & D Laboratories.

The pre-placement season includes training of students for resume writing, mock skill tests, communication skills, etc. are provided.

The highest package of the institute is 10 LPA. Students are placed in companies like Canon, Infosys, Tata consultancy, BYJU’s, Smartprix, etc. The committee evolves a broad policy framework every year besides a set of inviolable rules. Student members are closely co-opted in implementing these policy decisions.

In the academic year 2019-2020, around 168 students were placed in overall. The average package was 5.18 LPA. The maximum numbers of students were placed from Computer Science Engineering, Information & Technology dept. and Electronics Engineering and least were selected from Biomedical Engineering.

  • Shrimant Rajmata Vijaya Raje Scindia Scholarship:

This scholarship was initiated in memory of the founder of the college. An amount of Rs. 11150 is given to 3-4 poor students who have no other sources of financial assistance.

  • Shrimant Madhav Rao Scindia Scholarship:

Under this scholarship an amount of Rs. 11150 is given to two poor students of the college who have no other sources of financial assistance. Also, an amount of Rs.5000 is given to 4-5 poor students who have no other sources of financial assistance.

  • Scholarship from the Alumni Fund:

This scholarship was initiated by the alumni of the institute for poor and meritorious students who have no other sources of financial assistance.

For postgraduate programs:

GATE qualified students of M.E./M.Tech. courses are given scholarship if sanctioned by AICTE.

S.A.T.I. Facilities

The college offers all the basic facilities needed by the students such as:

  • Hostel facilities: The Institute has three Boys Hostels having a total of 300 seats and three Girls Hostels have a total of 320 seats. All the hostels have been equipped with adequate facilities.
  • Railway concession: Some students in the college are not from Vidisha and have to take trains for daily commuting. For this, every month a concession is provided to the students for their convenience.
  • Guesthouse: This house has been made for any guests visiting the institute or students' parents at considerable rates.
  • Cooperative store: A registered cooperative store is there within the campus which runs in collaboration with the hostel mess and provides items at reasonable rates.
  • Bank & Post Office: A branch of State Bank of India runs with an ATM on the campus. It's compulsory for students to have a bank account as every payment made by the college is by cheque. The post office is also available within the campus.
  • Dispensary: A dispensary is set up on the campus for providing basic medical facilities to the students along with a male and a female doctor.
  • KIOSK center: This center is for online/off-campus counseling that exists in the institute.
  • Canteen: A newly constructed canteen is also being set up on the campus.

Samrat Ashok Technological Institute aims to contribute towards the service and development of mankind, through quality education and research, in the area of science & technology. Along with highly qualified professors and Assistant professors, the institute holds 16 professors with an overall experience of more than 20 years in the B.E. program alone. Ans. No, it is not compulsory. However, the students who desire admission to the hostel have to apply on a prescribed application form to the Chief Warden and are given hostels on a first come first serve basis.
