Women’s College (WC) was established in the year 1937 in Kolkata, West Bengal. The college is affiliated to the University of Calcutta, Kolkata.
Women’s College offers Honors and General courses in BA and B.Sc. under UG programs, whereas the PG courses include MA in 3 subjects and M.Sc. in 2 subjects. The college also offers Certificate, Diploma and PG courses through Distance Education.

- For admission in General UG courses, candidates must have passed 10+2 in relevant streams from any recognised board.

- Selection in MA is based on the merit of the qualifying examination while for M.Sc., 60% candidates are selected on the basis of the merit and for the rest 40% of the seats, candidates have to appear for an entrance examination conducted by the University of Calcutta.

Women’s College BA and B.Sc Admission 2023
Bagbazar Women’s College offers BA (Hons.) in 9 courses, B.Sc. (Hons.) in 4 disciplines along with BA and B.Sc. (General) courses at the UG level. The basic eligibility criterion to take admission is 10+2 in the relevant streams with an aggregate of at least 50% marks with passing marks in the subject of choice (for Hons. degree). Candidates are selected strictly on the basis of the percentage of the marks obtained in the ‘Four Best’ subjects, including a language and the subject of choice. Key Points:
- Candidates belonging to SC/ ST categories must have a minimum of 40% marks in aggregate as well as the subject of choice in Honors to apply for admission.

Bagbazar Women’s College offers MA and M.Sc. in different specializations under PG programs. Candidates looking for admission in these courses must have secured a graduate degree in the relevant subjects with minimum 55% marks from any recognised university.
Candidates for MA are selected purely on the basis of the percentage obtained in graduation, whereas for M.Sc., 60% seats are filled on the basis of merit and 40% through the entrance test conducted by the University of Calcutta.

Women’s College Distance Education Programs Admission 2023: Diploma, Certificate and PG Courses
Women’s College offers Diploma, Certificate, and post-graduate courses through IGNOU. Candidates looking for distance education programs must have a graduate degree for PG courses, while the Certificate and Diploma courses are available after 10+2 as well. Women’s College Application Process 2023
Aspiring candidates who wish to take admission in Women’s College must apply online with the official website of the college. However, admission in the PG programs is centralised and done through the University of Calcutta.
To apply for admission in the college, here are the steps to be followed:

- Submit the completely filled application form by paying INR 200 either online via Credit Card/ Debit Card/ Net-banking or offline via Cash in Union Bank of India.
