NIFT Bangalore Courses

Courses offered by the National Institute of Fashion Technology, Bangalore are as follows:

Bachelor of Design (B Des.)
  • Eligibility: 50% aggregate marks in 10+2 in any discipline.
  • Specializations: Accessory Design, Knitwear Design, Fashion Communication, Leather Design, Fashion Design, Textile Design, and Fashion Technology.

Master of Design (M Des.)
  • Eligibility: 3-year Graduate degree in any discipline

National Institute of Fashion Technology Bangalore also offers some Certificate courses of 6 months to 1-year duration. NIFT Bangalore Admission

NIFT Bangalore admission is done on the basis of scores obtained in a particular entrance exam. The entrance exams are further processed by a Group Discussion and Interview.

  • For UG and PG admissions, the students are required to qualify for the CAT (Creative Ability Test) and GAT (General Ability Test).

How to apply?

Applicants may apply both online and offline for the admission. 

  • For the online process, the applicants need to fill the application form available on the official website along with all the required documents. 
  • For the offline process, the applicants are required to fill the application form online and then take a print out of the complete form. The application form is then to be submitted at the college.

Note: The final submission of the form is done only after the application fee is paid. The application fee for the general category applicants is INR 1,500 and for the reserved categories is INR 750.

Mandatory documents required at the time of admission are:

  • Original certificates of qualifying examination i.e. 12th class/ degree (marks Sheet and Certificate).
  • Proof of date of birth (Secondary School Mark Sheet & Certificate) (Original and Photocopy).
  • SC/ ST/ OBC - Non-Creamy/ PWD/ GEN-EWS (supported with requisite Certificate).
  • Certificate of Medical Fitness to be signed by a Registered Medical Practitioner in the prescribed format in original.

NIFT Scholarships

Students may apply for the Scholarships at the beginning of the academic year. The scholarship is provided on the basis of merits obtained in the qualifying exams and the parental income level. Scholarships provided are in the form of financial aid, tuition fee waiver, hostel fee waiver, etc. The amount of scholarship to be given or the decision of scholarship to be granted is solely under the consideration of college administration.
