What are some valuable insights into the program that you are offering at your department?

“We have a deep-rooted value-based system with insight to educate the girl child”

BPSMV is the first women's university in this zone and it has a deep-rooted value-based system, with a vision to educate the girl child and help her to stand tall before society as a strong individual, ready to challenge all oppressions instead of suffering silently. Courses are aimed to impart skills and meet the demands of the legal profession. Students also study many additional subjects along with compulsory subjects including foreign languages and many more.

How does the program ensure that students are being prepared for the future?

“Provide students with Professional qualification along with knowledge and strength”

The future of an individual is based on 3 P's

  1. Professional qualification
  2. Power of knowledge
  3. Personal strength

All three are properly imbued among our students to make them strong enough to follow their passion religiously.

How did you train yourself/faculty to deliver this program to the students?

“Provide Faculty with Faculty development courses, seminars, and webinars”

Good trends have been set by attending refresher courses, seminars, webinars and having educational projects and assignments to evolve and involve themselves in academic pursuits. Department is committed to enriching its faculty and students by organizing Orientation and Induction Programs as well as through participation in FDPs, SDPs frequently.

How do you make the Course Curriculum industry-oriented?

“To bridge the gap between the practical and theoretical skills of students”

The content of the courses has a strong component of corporate laws as well as scope for taking up projects which establish an industry connection. Our faculty members also have specialization in related themes like IPR etc. In the future also we would like to specifically focus on achieving a more rigorous interface between industry and legal education with a specific focus on employability.

What were the challenges that you faced while inculcating this program in your curriculum?

“Technical as well as societal challenges are faced by me while inculcating this program”

Setting trends is always difficult. I too faced many technical as well as societal challenges. It is really difficult for society to accept women to go for such professions. Many students of the Department are from a rural background, we have to stand with our students always to help them to follow their dreams and sometimes even to complete their course.

What are the types of projects that the students are working on through this program?

“Students are encouraged to do intensive research activities to refine their skills”

Students are intensively involved in research activities refining their academic and professional skills; engaged in training with NGOs, NCW, etc., and also at legal firms as well as multinational companies. Students also look forward to Moot Court competitions, mock trials, debates and discussions, an academic forum addressing various socio-legal developments and issues.
