Dr. Jagdish Prasad Sharma is currently working as Assistant professor, Electrical and Electronics Engineering Department, Institute of Engineering and Technology at JK Lakshmipat University, Jaipur. Having a rich experience in teaching and research, he has attended and conducted many seminars, conferences and workshops at national levels. He is a profound educationist, a mentor and guide, working for student welfare. 

What are your roles and responsibilities towards the students?

“Effective and interactive teaching & learning”

Being a faculty, teaching is my foremost job and to do that efficiently is my sole responsibility. I take part in research and organize such set-ups for students so that they can gain to the maximum possible level. Also, service roles are discharged to disseminate knowledge and holistic development of students. 

How do you tend to establish healthy relations within your University?

“Conversation and affirmation to varied views”

Open communication is very important. I always try to be a good listener and respect others' views in order to build healthy relations and thereby, a healthy atmosphere in the campus. Respectful disagreement and technology intervention tend to establish healthy relations with the students and fellow faculty.

How do you try to bring in a practical approach towards subjects?

“Quality learning and practical advances based on industry”

Experiential learning, industry visits, and industrial internship bridge the gap between theory and practical aspects. Lectures are more centric to delivery and applications of concepts. Apart from this, regular seminars, workshops, guest lectures and symposia are organized to aid students with current market trends in the industry. I always connect knowledge available with students to matter being taught in the lecture.

How do you strategize the curriculum to make it befitting for the students?

“Industrial expertise and feedback with current trends”

We have a very regularised and course-oriented curriculum that offers high potential of theory and practical learning. Departmental and University level meetings, stakeholders feedback, academia and industrial expert inputs are strategized to make the syllabus more efficient and productive. Also, modern technological advancements in the marketplace are incorporated with suggestions from professionals and administrators. 

How do you help your students to cope up with the competition being so high?

“Enhancing their skills and professional development”

Students are encouraged to attend professional development courses by reputable academia and distinguished industries. Practice assignments and design-based problems help enhance the skills of the students and expose them to real world challenges. Elevation of thinking level, reading success stories, yield experience on present professional software(s) are key to foster innovation-based learning.
