What are your roles and responsibilities towards the students?

“Teaching and training students to do best in their lives”

To train students ready for industry technically as well as prepare them with moral and social values, are my primary roles as a teacher and professor. I boost their confidence to achieve good in life and encourage them to follow the right pathway for their dreams and goals.

Any insights on the placements of the students from your department?

“Diverse domains in higher education and services”

Civil Engineering always offers challenging roles in industry. Our students are working in different domains of Civil Engineering in India and abroad. Many students are also pursuing their higher education in prestigious universities of India and other countries. There is a lot of scope of opportunities in Private sectors, PSUs and in government sectors in Civil Engineering. Students also have a wide range of many sub-disciplines of Civil Engineering streams for higher studies as well.

How do you strategize the curriculum to make it befitting for the students?

“Upgradation in compliance with faculty council and industry experts”

With the help of our faculty council and BOS meetings, our institute upgrades the curriculum with the changing needs of the marketplace. Also, suggestions and recommendations of external experts from academia and industry are incorporated to make the curriculum industry-oriented and practical. We have gradually transformed from traditional teaching methods to project based learning to uplift the quality of education as per the needs of industry.

How do you help your student to cope up with the high competition outside?

“Spatial learning and guidance to students”

Because of dynamic changes in the outer world and industry needs, competition is more vivid nowadays. We organize regular technical fests to encourage students for innovative learning and maintain a competitive spirit. During my lecture, project, lab work or case studies I always relate concepts with real world problems, and aspire students to become potential problem solvers. We assign individual and group projects, case studies and also invite industry experts for guidance to students.

What approaches do you bring in apart from curriculum to train the students?

“Numerous field activities and project trainings”

We train students as life ready professionals through our outcome based learning approaches and various training programmes. Apart from curriculum, we organize field trips, industrial visits and field projects to train students in subject knowledge and expose them to the real world.
