What are your roles and responsibilities towards the students?

“Classroom teaching, practical works and assessment of students”

As an Assistant Professor, I plan, schedule, organize, coordinate and monitor lectures and practicals for the students assigned to me. I guide the students in the experimentation and practical tasks and skill exercises, and evaluate their performance. I advise and assist the students in their project works as well. I keep a pace with every students’ learning capability and improve my teaching methodology accordingly so that no one lag behind.

How do you tend to establish healthy relations within your Institute?

“Working as one family is our strength”

I always work with high-quality instruction guidance between the students and always try to help them and my department faculties. We provide the space to students to approach us at any time for support. We all work together and make everyone comfortable to share his/her opinion in front of us. We deliver positive expectations to students by directly telling them they have the ability to do well and also correcting students in a constructive way.

How do you try to bring in a practical approach towards subjects?

“We involve our students to gain real-time experience”

For the subjects that I teach, I have to orient the students to do the project based on the syllabus like sample collection, preparing drawing and analyzing data. I ask them to follow up the reports with presentations about the same. These activities help them to get an update about the industries and IT tools software used in industry.

What are your views on the placements of the students from your department?

“Efficient placement cell and maintaining a goal to develop the career of the students”

At JK Lakshmipat University, our placement cell regularly encourages the students by imparting training and placement. They offer different kinds of job opportunities in various organizations. The UG students are given Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) training by the faculty to help them qualify for the exam for PG studies with a scholarship. Guest lectures and Job Fair are conducted to make them aware about the various openings for jobs as well as higher studies.

How do you help your student to cope up with the competition being so high?

“Organizing guest lectures by accomplished alumni and eminent faculties”

Some technologies that we learn now may go obsolete as it keeps changing. Focusing a little more on soft skills, problem-solving skills, entrepreneurship and self-learning initiatives can prepare them to face any kind of challenges. We have incorporated such courses in our curriculum. We appropriately guide the students to attend several professional development programs organized by IITs, NITs, and distinguished industries, apart from the regular course. Every year a lot of students complete NPTEL courses, participate in industry induction programs, yield experience on present professional software(s), attend workshops, webinars, etc.

How do you enhance the skills of the students for upcoming challenges?

“Various activities for their practical exposure and learning outcomes”

Our center for communication and critical thinking helps students to develop communication skills to make them employable. Students are always engaged in different extracurricular activities and programs such as quiz competitions, innovation challenges, community services and problem solving, etc. to enhance their skills or expose them to real-world challenges.

What challenges did you face during current pandemic situations?

“The sudden transition of teaching-learning methods”

It is always an opportunity disguised as a challenge. There was an initial challenge in the current pandemic as a part of teaching-learning from offline to online delivery model. However, we have quickly adopted and in the process learnt many online tools and techniques, which are helping in efficient delivery even in online mode without any compromise on quality of delivery of content.
