• In the campus selection, the highest salary offered to an ECE student was INR 25.33 LPA and the average salary offered was INR 10.95 LPA.
• Cut off of other state candidate for the general category is ranging between 4615-6752 and for home state general candidate ranged from 3600-7128.

The Political Science Department at both Ashoka University and Jadavpur University is quite good.

Ashoka University offers different branches of Political Science as honors courses. It has a wonderful group of faculty which include graduates or PhDs from ivy league colleges. IIEST Shibpur- IIEST Shibpur witnessed a 67.8% placement rate for ECE in 2019 while offering an average median salary of 6 LPA.

Facilities: IIEST Shibpur has a comparatively better infrastructure with updated technology and classrooms but offers a more research-based approach in terms of teaching. Jadavpur University allows students to experience their curriculum through practical and hands-on teaching with a modern and updated approach.

IIT Bhubaneswar ranks 17th in the Engineering category by NIRF 2019. Civil Engineering in IIT Bhubaneswar has seen 89% placements in the year 2019 with an average salary package of 11 lakhs per annum and the highest being 39 lakhs per annum. Companies like Tata Motors, TATA Steel, TATA Advanced Systems, L&T construction, L&T Ltd, etc.

Jadavpur University ranks 14th in the Engineering category by NIRF 2019. Out of 55 students, 51 were placed with an average salary package of 6 lakhs per annum and the highest package was 19 lakhs per annum. Top recruiting companies include Microsoft, Uber, Siemens, Rockwell Automation, Samsung, TCS and PWC.

So it is always better to study in an IIT just for its brand value but Jadavpur University being a government college has lesser fees than IIT Bhubaneswar. IIT students are also given a higher salary package than Jadavpur University.

IIT BHU is one of the prestigious IITs of India and is 100 years old. The Mechanical Department of IIT BHU has good faculties and excellent lab facilities. Course Curriculum of Mechanical Engineering is designed in such a way to provide students with industrial skills. The Mechanical Department at IIT BHU has good placement stats having companies visiting campus for jobs in both cores as well as non-core profiles.

JU is also a good college with some of the good faculties and infrastructure. It is considered one of the best colleges in West Bengal after IITKGP. One of the perks of joining JU is that fee is only 10k per semester which is quite cheap when compared to IIT BHU. Placements are very good and on par with other colleges and students get placed in top companies such as Amazon, Microsoft, Oracle, Adobe, Samsung, Goldmann Sachs, etc. Students were offered an average package of 12 LPA CTC while the highest being offered was 39 LPA CTC by Adobe.

In general, IIEST accepts admissions based on the JEE Main only. It does not accept WBJEE entrance exam scores and rankings. However, Jadavpur University accepts the WBJEE exam. So, if you scored 3,300 WBJEE rank. Then, you can apply for Jadavpur University.

Jadavpur University offers several engineering courses under the UG level and the college accepts WBJEE scores for admission. However, IIEST accepts only based on the JEE Main.
