Which college should I choose among SGSITS (Indore), NIT Raipur and NIT Rourkela for a B.tech?

I have friends in both NIT Raipur and other NITs. After deep research and comparison with respect to placement, location, and industry trends, NIT Rourkela should be your preference. 

Check out the following points to get a better view.

• CSE / IT branches usually considered as best departments because of better placement opportunities. But you should go with the branch where your pool of interest lies as you will be devoting 4 years to that.
• According to my friends, NITs provide you an option to change your branch after the 1st or 2nd Semester. This is termed Internal Branch Sliding. This facility is available in both NIT Raipur and NIT Rourkela. A minimum CGPA of 7.5 is required in NIT Raipur and 8.5 is required in NIT Rourkela in order to be eligible to change your branch.

However, other institutes like SGSITS may not provide such an option.

• If you are solely interested in placements and packages, then also CSE / IT is not the only option. 
• Even if you are from any core branch, you could even appear for GATE and get into PSUs, for a quality life.

Again, NITs hold an edge for better placements, with Rourkela having better than Raipur. If you are the one who wants to go for higher studies like Masters and Ph.D., then you really need to finalize a stream and plan accordingly.

Now for this, it is important to have highly qualified professors which you are more likely to find in MIT/IT/NIT.

So, it all depends on your interests and future plans, hence choose wisely. However, according to research and statistics, your preference here should be NIT ROURKELA > NIT RAIPUR > SGSITS(Indore).
