Shri Govindram Seksaria Institute of Technology and Science, Indore was established in 1952. It has been ranked among top 30-40 institutes on national level (including IITs and NITs) by independent bodies. Further, looking at its credentials, All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) and University Grant Commission (UGC), New Delhi, declared the institute as autonomous in 1989. Under the autonomous state, the institute is affiliated to the Rajiv Gandhi Prodyogiki Vishwavidhyalaya (University of technology of M.P.) Bhopal.

The institute offers ten UG courses (Regular), four UG courses (Part time), PG programs with twenty two specializations, two part time PG courses in various disciplines under the emerging areas of Engineering, Technology, Applied Sciences, Computer Applications, Management & Pharmacy.

 

The admission for undergraduate courses is based on JEE and CET. For management courses, the CMAT score will be considered.

Selection Criteria

  • For B.Tech / B.E., candidates will have to appear for JEE Main.
  • For M.E. / M.Tech, GATE candidates will be given preference.
  • MBA and MCA aspirants will have to clear CMAT and entrance conducted by the institute.
  • Ph.D. Entrance: Admissions to the PHD programme are based on an interview and an entrance examination conducted by University.

Institute provides facilities like computer centre, central workshop, central library, gymnasium, dispensary, CIDI, Hostel, games and sports.

Computer Centre: There are two types of computer labs.

Programming Lab: There are 42 computers in the lab.

Central Computing Lab: There are 83 computers in the central computing lab.

Central workshop: The central workshop is used for industrial, mechanical, and production engineering students for CAD/CAM and research work. There are different shops available in the central workshop which includes Machine Shop, Fitting Shop, Welding Shop, Smithy Shop, Carpentry Shop, Foundry Shop.

Central library: The central library consisted of Books, Thesis, journal, and electronics projects.

Gymnasium: Institute has the equipped gymnasium.

Dispensary: The dispensary has the full-time first aid kit and compounder.

CIDI facilities: Various design packages and computational facilities are available.

Hostel Facilities: Institute has hostel and accommodation facilities. There are boy’s hostel, girl’s hostel, transit hostel, guest house, and staff quarter.

Games and Sports: Physical Education & Sports Section regularly organizes the State level, Inter Nodal, Inter Collegiate, & Inter branch Sports Tournaments of Cricket, Basketball, Volleyball, Badminton, Throw ball, T.T., Football, Chess, Lawn Tennis, Kho-Kho, Carom & Handball Games. Every year coaching camps and selection Trials of various games for the National and State level Tournaments are conducted by the department.
