Ques. What kind of hardships do students suffer in top law colleges like NLSIU, Nalsar or NUJS?

● Top Answer By Sakshi Gupta on 25 Oct 21

Ans. One of my friends studied at NUJS. According to her, hardships have varied reasons from academics to personal. The Cases/readings are worth easily 500 pages every day, preparing summaries/case briefs, Tutorials and then projects, presentations, vivas, and the tiring final semesters all comprise the academic hardships. Due to internships, you will miss your vacations. Internships are a temporary glimpse into what life will be like. After getting the grind to excel and to get placed / PPOs, some students suffer from existential crises, emotional upheavals, urge for infinite sabbaticals, etc.  The burden of studies and placements takes a toll on your personal life.  Case briefs become a reason for discord rather than unity.  The healthy competition suddenly gets replaced by a rat race.  Lastly, all the things like hobbies, extra-curricular, etc. disappear. But even after all the hardships, it still is the best time of a student’s life at NLSIU.Read more

Ques. Is it possible to get a seat in NALSAR Hyderabad with 5 months of preparation belonging to science stream?

● Top Answer By Aaditya Hari Nair on 15 Sept 21

Ans. My best friend was in the science stream and took admission as a B.Tech student in IIT Kharagpur, but afterward, he prepared for Law for 3 months and got through. He's an advocate today.  It is absolutely possible to prepare for the exam in such a short period. Just maintain the balance and if you could, devote more time for preparation. Strategic time management and discipline are what you need.  Work on the derivations in Physics and concepts. Read current affairs in between and this will be a good way to work in balance.Read more

Ques. Can I study as a day scholar at nalsar University?

● Top Answer By Aaditya Hari Nair on 13 Sept 21

Ans. NALSAR is situated nearly 35 km from Secunderabad city. The classes are conducted from 9 AM-5 PM every day. Apart from this, you can choose late hours for tutorials and projects. The seniors preferably choose late night timings.  Being a day scholar, you might be able to attend a few morning lectures some days after covering huge distances. However, it is difficult to be present for all of them as guest lectures happen on weekends usually. One of my seniors was a local himself and he preferred to stay on the campus on weekdays. Going out can be hectic and you need permission from the warden. It will be tiresome for you to travel to the campus and back again at home. It will be practically impossible for you as a day scholar.Read more

Ques. How do I crack the CLAT and get into NALSAR?

● Top Answer By Aaditya Hari Nair on 09 Sept 21

Ans. Cracking CLAT and converting NALSAR is different but both are interrelated. First, let us discuss CLAT. The new pattern of the exam comprises five specified areas: English Language Logical Reasoning Quantitative Techniques Legal Reasoning Current Affairs including General Knowledge It is a two-hour test focused on the comprehension skills, reasoning skills and, abilities of candidates. You can either opt for a coaching institute or choose to prepare all by yourself but you will have to keep practicing dedicatedly. Buy a good CLAT preparation book, appear for as many mock tests as you can. Always solve sample papers with a timer, this will give you an essence of the d-day. Only good scores can help you secure a seat at NALSAR; there is no magic spell. The competition is very high here. Just like the top rankers of IIT JEE Advanced make it to the top-ranked IITs, the same is the case with NALSAR.  The higher the score, the higher is the chances of converting NALSAR.Read more

Ques. How many marks should I get in CLAT to get a seat in Nalsar?

● Top Answer By Aaditya Hari Nair on 09 Sept 21

Ans. CLAT is all about percentile and not the percentage. It is not about how much you score but how much you score when compared to all other aspirants that appear in the entrance exam along with you. For NALSAR, the cut-off is between 130 to 140 marks out of 200 for the general category. If you manage to be in the top 120 ranks in the country, your seat is secured at NALSAR. If the difficulty of the exam is easy then you expect the cut-off to be a bit relaxed. You can expect it to be between 170-185.Read more
