Candidates seeking admission to NIT Warangal B.Tech shall fulfill the following eligibility criteria:

  • Must have qualified 10+2 with a Science stream, and Physics and Mathematics as compulsory subjects.

Selection Procedure 

NIT Warangal B.Tech Admission is done on the basis of JEE Main examination. Candidates who qualify for the entrance exam have to appear for centralized counseling by the Central Seat Allocation Board (CSAB).

  • Selection criteria will be done on the basis of JEE Main marks (60%).
  • Only 40% of 10+2 marks will be calculated in the merit lists.
  • 10% relaxation for ST/SC candidates.
  • seats are allotted through a counseling process done by JoSAA-CSAB.
  • All the seats are reserved category-wise Gen/SC/ST/OBC and PwD depending upon the guidelines instructed by MHRD.

How to Apply for JoSAA Counselling?

NIT Warangal allows admission for B.Tech only through a counseling process done by JoSAA(Joint Seat Allocation Authority).

  • Visit the official website of Joint Seat Allocation Authority @jossa.nic.in.
  • Register yourself using JEE Main Scores.
  • Candidates can fill as many options while registering that in the decreasing order.
  • Once choices are made cannot be changed later on, therefore candidates need to fill the options very carefully
  • The counseling process is done in the 7 rounds to allot the seats for the desired stream
  • Candidates need to book their seats by paying booking fees

NIT Warangal B.Tech is a 4-year program of which the coursework is divided into 8 semesters.

  • The total coursework of the B.Tech constitutes the following components: Basic Science Core (BSC), Engineering Science Core (ESC), Humanities and Social Science Core (HSC), Program Core Courses (PCC), Departmental Elective Courses (DEC), Open Elective Courses (OPC), Program Major Project(PRC) and EAA: Games and Sports (MDC).

Program Structure

  • Course Duration: The minimum duration to complete the NIT Warangal B.Tech is 4 years and the maximum is 8 years (16 semesters).
  • Open Electives: The open electives can be any of the following: Basic Sciences, Engineering Science Courses, Humanities, Social Sciences, and Management.
  • Credit Requirements: The minimum credit requirement to pursue the program is 173 with a CGPA not less than 4.0.
  • Course Schedule: Each odd and even semester will be of 17 weeks including the end-semester examination.
  • Attendance Requirements: Candidates are required to have a minimum attendance of 80% in each semester to qualify for the end-semester examination. 5% attendance relaxation is given to girl candidates
  • Evaluation: B.Tech program is evaluated for 100 marks which are Periodic Evaluation by Grade 40 marks, Mid-term review 20 marks, End Semester viva voce 40 marks.
