NIT Patna MTech Admission 2024: Cutoff, Fees, Eligibility, Placement, Application Process, Dates

NIT Patna M.Tech admission 2024 will be based on the GATE scores followed by CCMT counseling. For NIT Patna MTech Admission 2024, GATE Registrations have started from August 30. The closing date of regular registration is September 29, 2023. Along with that, the deadline for extended online registration or application process (with late fee) is 13^th October, 2023. Furthermore, GATE 2024 tentative exam dates have been announced. GATE 2024 entrance exam is expected to be held in the month of February. The exam dates for GATE 2024 is on February 3,4,10 & 11. 

NIT Patna offers MTech program for a duration of 2 years in 18 different specialisations under 7 departments. Admission to NIT Patna MTech program is made on the basis of merit scores of GATE exam and further CCMT counselling. NIT Patna MTech cutoff in overall for the year 2023 ranges from 352-468. 

NIT Patna allows MTech program to be in online mode only. This program is available in both full-time and part-time mode. The insttute charges an overall fee of nearly 2 lakhs including the tuition fee, development fee and admission fee. NIT Patna M.Tech Eligibility Criteria

• The candidates willing to take admission in NIT, Patna M.Tech course must have a B.Tech degree in a relevant discipline with a minimum of 65% for General (60% for reserved category) from a recognized institution.
• As the selection is based on merit secured in the GATE Examination. So the candidate must have appeared for the GATE examination in 2018, 2019 or 2020 and must have a valid score.

The admission to M.Tech course at NIT, Patna is through online mode only. 

The selection process is based on the score of the GATE examination given by the candidates. The shortlisted candidates must apply for and attend the counseling conducted by Centralized Counseling for M. Tech (CCMT).

How To Apply?

• Visit the official website of CCMT https://ccmt.nic.in/WebInfo/Page/Page?PageId=1&LangId=P
• Register and login using the login credentials.
• The shortlisted candidates (based on the GATE score) must attend the CCMT counseling, where the candidate needs to fill the preferred course and institution.

At last, document verification will be done by the institute in which the candidate has been allotted a seat.

• Proof of payment of Seat Acceptance Fee (SAF).
• Original Migration certificate of Institute/University last attended. 
• Original Conduct Certificate from the Institute/University last attended.

• Print copy of the Registration form and the locked choices downloaded from the CCMT portal through candidate’s login, duly signed by the candidate.
• Provisional Seat Allotment Letter (PSAL) of the finally allotted seat in Round-3 downloaded from the CCMT portal through candidate’s login, duly signed by the candidate.
• Online Document Verification Certificate (ODVC) downloaded from the CCMT portal through candidate’s login after successful Online Document Verification, duly signed by the candidate.
• Three passport size color photographs.

There are Multiple Choice Questions (MCQ), Math-Science Quest for Solutions (MSQ), Numerical Answer Type (NAT). The are questions from three sections, they are General Aptitude, Engineering Mathematics and Subject Specification Section. There is negative marking, i.e. ½ mark will be deducted from a wrong answer.
