          Remarks :

The campus is beautiful and the city was closer to my family who were based in Bangalore. My experience has been great and made lots of friends. The faculty are amazing and they are there to help you when you approach. The admission procedure was based on entrance exam. Selection criteria was your graduation marks plus your entrance marks. Then they will announce the merit list depending on the programmes you selected. For life science programmes you have common exam for 10 departments. I selected biochemistry, microbiology, genetics and molecular biology. I got selected in all 4 but I chose biochemistry because that was my subject of interest. Then I had to fill the admission form on-campus and pay fees for academic year in campus bank. Along with challan copy, I had to submit my relevant marks cards. Then the admission is complete. I chose this university on feedbacks from my seniors who studied in the same university.

Here are some of the things you can experience during the weekends. You can plan small outings in nearby places like Madikeri Kushalnagar, Chunchanakatte, etc. You can also visit the world heritage of Mysore, the Palace. You can also experience Chamundi Hill, Zoo, some fancy places to eat like Gokulam, Vijayanagar Mandi Mohalla, and food centers like Hanumant Hotel, Khan's Hotel, and Khan's Majlis. Ques. What are some helpful tips for students starting their first year at University of Mysore?

          ● Top Answer By Aaditya Hari Nair on 14 Oct 21

Ans. I have a few friends from the University of Mysore. Here are some tips that they shared with me.  Be friendly with the faculty members and staff. Attendance is compulsory at this university. You can even get disbarred from giving examinations. So, maintain the required attendance percentage. Use the library. You will find useful books there. There is also a digital library. Hostel accommodation is good. Get a bicycle to explore the campus. Make some friends. Visit the places nearby campus like Kukkarahalli lake, Gandhi park, etc. Visit the Kannada dept. There are some important Archeological collections.  These are some of the things that you should keep in mind if you are planning to join the University of Mysore. Read more
