IIM Indore established in the year 1996, is the sixth edition to the family of IIMs. The institute is ranked as the 10th best management institute in India by NIRF.
Candidates coming from various backgrounds such as Engineering, Commerce and Arts, etc backgrounds seek admission to this institute after graduation. IIM Indore offers full-time PGP, PGP-HRM, and PGP-HRM(Mumbai campus) for the duration of 2 years. The EPGP is another postgraduate program offered for working executives.
Being in the prestigious group of older IIMs, getting into IIM Indore is tough. Every year more than 1032 students get calls from IIM Indore but the conversion rate is as low as 32% only.
For Admission to PGP, PGP-HRM and PGP-HRM (Mumbai campus) Programs, candidates are shortlisted on the basis of CAT Cutoff released by IIM Indore. Despite, IIMI setting up the minimum CAT Cutoff as low as 90 percentile, it is expected to reach 98 percentile at the time of admission.
Shortlisted candidates had to undergo the WAT and PI process in the next stage. But due to COVID-19 restrictions and country-wide lockdown, WAT has been removed for 2020-22 admission only for PGP and PGP-HRM courses. Thus, students with a valid score in PI either appeared online or offline would be treated as final.
In the final stage of the selection process, scores of candidates are normalized and evaluated. IIM Indore has awarded more weightage to the Academics and communication skills of applicants instead of CAT marks. CAT score holds only 20% weightage against 74% weightage to class 10th and 12th marks in shortlisting for PI shortlisting.
