Course Details
Annamalai University M.Ed admission 2023 is open now. The last date to apply has been extended to June 30, 2023. Interested candidates can apply online on the official website – annamalaiuniversity.ac.in. M.Ed is a 2-year program offered by the Department of Education at AU. Applicants with 50% aggregate in B.Ed/ B.A.Ed./ B.Sc.Ed degree under the CBCS, are eligible to apply for the program. SC/ST/OBC/PWD and other applicable categories will have relaxation as per Tamil Nadu’s regulations. Candidates are selected on a merit basis and through a selection test conducted by Annamalai University. The candidates qualifying for the selection test are called for a personal interview before the final counselling.

Annamalai University M.Ed Course Details
- The minimum duration of the course is two years ( four semesters).
- The maximum duration to complete the M.Ed program is 04 years.
- The medium of instruction of the course is English.
- The total intake for M.Ed students is 50.
- Students need to complete 100 credits including a research dissertation to get the degree.
- The course structure has a field visit of 20 hours to practice teaching under supervision.
- Applicants will have to appear for a Selection Test for admission to AU M.Ed program.
- Students need to pay INR 46,210 and INR 43,500 towards tuition fee for the first and second year respectively.

- Candidates are required to have at least 50% aggregate marks in B.Ed/ B.A.Ed./ B.Sc.Ed degree under the CBCS (choice based credit system) from Annamalai University or a degree exam in the education of any other recognized university.
- The candidates belonging to the SC/ST/PwD and other categories are provided relaxation in the criteria as per the provisions of the Tamil Nadu Government.

Applicants will be selected on the basis of merit. Merit will be determined by considering the last qualifying examination, selection test and an interview to be conducted by the university.
How to Apply?
- Visit the official website of the University.
- Click on the ‘Admissions- On campus’ tab. A new page will open.
- Click on ‘Applications- Online’ option & click on ‘B.Ed/M.Ed’ option.
- The official portal for the B.Ed/M.Ed admissions will open.
- Click on the one that indicates ‘M. Ed Degree Programme’. A form will appear.
- Add all the required information such as your name, email address, Date of Birth etc. along with a password and create your login credentials.
- Pay the application fees of INR 1000 through net banking/debit/credit card.
- Download and send the hard copy of the application form to the official address of Annamalai University by post.

Counselling Process
Candidates are called for the counselling process based on their performance in the entrance test and the personal interview. Candidates are required to be present with all the required original certificates and documents at the time of admissions. Once all the documents are verified at the administrative office at Annamalai University, the candidates are required to pay the respective fees to confirm their seat.

Course Structure and Degree Requirements
- The two-year M.Ed program at Annamalai University is divided into 04 semesters.
- The maximum duration to complete the M.Ed program is four years.
- The total number of credits of the course including the research dissertation is 100.
- Field-based experience for 20 hours related to supervisor and evaluation of practice teaching in B.Ed.programme will be done by every candidate during the third semester.
- Every candidate is required to submit a research proposal in the 1st semester of their course.
- In the 3rd semester of the program, students get a chance to get into the field and practice teaching students under supervision.
- Students should submit the thesis by 30th May of the fourth semester.
- A viva-voce is also conducted after 3 months of submission of the research thesis.
- A student is passed if he/she obtains at least 45% in the thesis in the external examination and at least 50% in the aggregate of the Thesis and Viva-voce, internal and external examinations.

Scholarships Offered
Students applying for admissions in the M.Ed course at Annamalai University can apply for government scholarships, subject to eligibility. Some of the scholarships are mentioned below:

- Fee Concession to Blind/ Visually Impaired Students: Under rule 92 of Tamil Nadu Education Rules, a full fee concession is provided to the blind students whose guardian’s annual income does not exceed INR 24,000.
