Educational Qualifications

The candidates applying for admission to the PGDCA programme at Annamalai University must have the following educational qualification obtained from any of the recognized universities:

  • Graduation/Bachelor’s Degree in any stream from a recognized university
  • The applicants who have passed the qualifying examination under the pattern of 10+2+3 or 11+2+2 or 11+1+3 years will be eligible for admission to the programme.

Age Criteria

According to the University norms, there is no age bar for admission to the PGDCA programme.

Annamalai University PGDCA Admission Guidelines

For admission to the PGDCA programme at Annamalai University, every candidate needs to satisfy the academic eligibility criteria and the cutoff/merit set by the University.

The admission to the course is purely based on the merit in the qualifying examination. The mode of application to the course is Offline only and needs to be sent to the administrative office by post. The aspirants can pay the application fees in online mode only.

  • Click on the link for PG Diploma Admission portal.
  • Download the application form or get the form from the university office in person or by post.
  • Fill the application form carefully after checking the eligibility criteria.
  • Enter the programme code, name of the programme, medium of instruction, optional subjects and PCP (Personal Contact Programme) Zone very clearly and correctly.
  • A recent Passport size photograph should be pasted on the Application form and signed by the applicant.
  • Attach self-attested copies of certificates for the educational qualification, 10th Marksheet, 11th and 12th Marksheet, U.G. Degree/Provisional Certificate(s), Transfer Certificate/ Migration Certificate and Community Certificate.
  • If the certificates submitted by the applicant are in a language other than English/Tamil, an attested English version of the certificates should accompany them.
  • Send the application form to the University office by ordinary post.

Annamalai University PGDCA Admissions Application fees

The aspirants from all the categories need to pay an application fee of Rs. 200. The students can pay the application fees in online mode. The candidates can deposit the fee through Debit Card/Credit Card/Net Banking/UPI.

Documents required in original at the time of Admission

The candidates need to bring or submit the following documents in original along with Xerox copies during the time of admission:

  • Graduation Degree / Provisional Certificate
  • Class 12th mark sheet and passing certificate
  • Class 11th mark sheet and passing certificate
  • Class 10th mark sheet and passing certificate
  • Transfer Certificate/ Migration Certificate
  • ID Proof (Aadhaar Card / Voter‘s Identity Card / PAN Card / Passport / Driving License)

Admission Procedure

The selection to the PGDCA programme is based on merit in the qualifying examination of the candidate.

Spot Admission

  • Applicants living near any of the Study Centres set by the University can step in for Spot Admission. Selection for direct admission will be made at the Study Centres.
  • For Spot Admission, the candidates must submit the filled-in application along with the required documents.
  • Original Certificates will be returned immediately after verification.

Admission through Post

  • If the applicant's place is not near any of the Study Centres, the filled-in application pasted with passport size photograph must be sent to the office of Directorate of Distance Education, Annamalai University along with self-attested Xerox copies of the documents.
  • On receipt of provisional admission cards, the candidates need to send by the Original Certificates of documents submitted along with the application by Speed Post.
  • The admission confirmation, the signed identity card and the original certificates will be returned to the student through Registered post.

A candidate is eligible to appear for the examination only if he/she satisfies the minimum attendance of 11 days out of 12 days (90%) per semester of Personal Contact Programme.

Ans. Personal Contact Programmes (PCP) are held on Saturdays, Sundays and Public Holidays during which lectures and discussions will be held on all subjects including orientation to do the practicals. Students are advised to avail this facility. If they bring the recommended textbooks along with study materials received from the Directorate, they will find the PCPs immensely useful.

Ques. Can I join another degree programme while pursuing PGDCA at the same time at Annamalai University?

Ans. No candidate is permitted to join or study two Degree programmes at a time. If any candidate is found pursuing Two Degree Programmes simultaneously, the Directorate will cancel the admission to any one of the programmes at its discretion and the fees remitted for the cancelled programme will be forfeited. However, students pursuing a degree programme are permitted to join or study a Certificate / Diploma / P.G. Diploma programme concurrently.

Ques. How would the study material and books of Annamalai University PGDCA be available to the students?

Ans. The Regulations and Syllabus for the Programme will be supplied along with the study material. The syllabus and study material will be supplied during the time of Spot Admission at the Study Centre itself or the same will be dispatched by the D.D.E. through Registered Post.
