Banaras Hindu University (BHU) Varanasi offers a full-time Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS) program for a duration of 5 years. Institute of Medical Sciences, Banaras Hindu University is one of the oldest centers for Medical Science BDS courses. The minimum eligibility to apply for the BDS program offered at BHU Varanasi is 10+2. The selection of candidates is based on the merit list released by the university through NEET-UG.

BHU Varanasi BDS Eligibility Criteria

Candidates who wish to seek admission for the BDS program offered at Banaras Hindu University (BHU) Varanasi shall fulfill the following eligibility criteria:

• Must have secured a minimum of 50% aggregate marks in 10+2 or HSC from a recognized board with Physics, Chemistry, Biology, and English as compulsory subjects.
• The candidate shall have a minimum age of 17 years as of 31 December of the said year of admission.
• Must have obtained a valid score in the NEET exam.

BHU BDS Admission Guidelines

The selection criteria for Admissions to the BDS course is based on the merit list released by BHU Varanasi through NEET. 

• After BHU Varanasi will release the merit list, candidates will be invited to register themselves for the seat allotment process.
• Candidates need to choose the preferences of college and pay the counseling fees.
• BHU Varanasi will allot admission seats to candidates basis their NEET merit-rank and their preference.
• Candidates will have to confirm their allotted admission seats by submitting the admission token fees.

BHU BDS Course Details

The entire BDS program of BHU Varanasi is for the duration of 4 years along with one year of internship. The course curriculum is divided into eight semesters in total.

• The course along with the comprehensive studies also provided chances for students for research and exposure. 
• Candidates need to meet the required credit scored in each semester and 75% mandatory attendance in each of the subjects to pass through the semester.

BHU Varanasi provides a one-year internship opportunity to its BDS students after the completion of the course curriculum.
