What students say about University of Lucknow - [LU]

Likes

  • The course is well-defined, and we have semester exams, which is a very good initiative, so that we can check out our knowledge every 6 months!
  • The internship experience was very good, and the stipend offered to me was also very nice. I accepted that stipend as well. The internship experience was very good, and the stipend offered to me was also very nice. I accepted that stipend as well.
  • There are great placement and job opportunities in our institution, through which a lot of students have a chance to represent themselves.
  • The college has minimum fees for the course, which I thought was great. Additionally, the college also provides scholarships to students who cant afford the fees, which I believe is the best quality of the college, as it ensures affordable education for every student.
  • The library is very good, 10 out of 10. There is no library like this.
  • The rooms are of average size. Talking about the biggest problem of hostels, the food, I could say that it is okay.
  • Too delayed to take managerial decisions, but great for sports, co-curricular activities, and studying.

Dislike

  • The faculties hardly care for the students or their development; they frequently absent themselves and take classes at their will.
  • I worked there for 4 months, but the stipend was low and not what I had expected.
  • Worst because we are the first batch and know nothing about how the placement will happen or which company will be coming at all.
  • There are no scholarships or loan facilities available at the university; however, poor students can get admissions in EWS categories.
  • The campus environment is not very safe for girls. The bullying of girls is very common. Girls cannot wear western clothes. Eve teasing is quite common. Its not safe for girls to sit in the college canteen. The boys are very weird and narrow-minded.
  • The condition of the old campus is very bad. The quality of seats is very poor, and there are few fans in one classroom. It is very difficult to study in summers.
  • The point of view of the strike seems bad to me when we go to college and learn that the strike is occurring.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I have an interest in academics and want to be a professor so that I can spread knowledge, that's why I have chosen this course. Faculty members are excellent in their fields. They are very helpful and supportive. They give advice apart from studies also and are very helpful and knowledgeable. They go with 1to 1 interact with the students and organise various seminars, career counselling programmes, and alumni meetings so as to acknowledge children about the several courses and college history. All the teaching faculty are PhD holders and stand excellent in their respective fields of knowledge. The teaching process is mainly done by the board system in this course and the classes are run by a systematic timetable which is provided by the faculty members themselves. There is a semester system and the exam is conducted every 6 months for the duration of 3 years if pursuing the undergraduate course. But according to NEP 3 years is shifted to 4 years. Exam pattern is very easy if the student has studied.

Remarks:

Only those candidates are eligible to apply who have completed 10+2 either with PCB or PCM with aggregate 50% marks. The application process is available on the college's official sites along with the helpline number and emails through which candidates can ask for queries Christian students are given more priority over non-Christians. Admission process is very sorted and needs not to be improved much according to me.

As of my knowledge now I don't know about more placements from this college, So basically I know that you can eligible for placements in the last year of college. My plans after the degree for giving other competitive exams for further studies.

Remarks:

Course Curriculum Overview:

I choose this course because of my dream to become an engineer. The faculty member of this college is good. Teacher and student communication is normal. And the ratio is 6:4. The practical exams are difficult. You definitely do a hard study to qualify.

Remarks:

I took admitted in 2020. At that time COVID-19 was viral . At that time the entrance exam was taken at a normal level. If you prepared slightly you will be cleared. And the admission process was simple. After the qualifying entrance, you will be submitted your Transfer certificate, 12th mark sheet, photocopy of your identity, and the demand draft of the fees.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Due to my keen interest in life sciences, I opted for a B.Sc in biology. The student-to-faculty ratio is 40:1, which is quite good. The faculty is very good, everyone holds a PhD degree and is always eager to help the students. They use various teaching methods, usually by videos or in botany they take you to the plant you are studying about. Assessments were done on monthly basis and it was compulsory to give the tests, the results were put on the notice board by the end of the first week of the month. A detailed datasheet with the syllabus was provided in advance to the student.

Remarks:

An MCQ-based entrance exam was held based on the intermediate level. The application form is to be collected offline from the college campus which is strategically located in the city. I belong to the unreserved category but the college provides reservations as per the guidelines of Govt. of India. Being a minority college, it is an autonomous body, graded A by NAAC and it gives reservations to Christian girls. It is an all-girls college. I would really appreciate it if the admission process takes place virtually and if the college manages the website properly.

Course Curriculum Overview:

In Lucknow Christian degree college course curriculum is good. In college, various courses are offered but I choose a Bachelor of science because I wanted to prepare for the CDS examination side by side while graduating. students ratio is around 80. Qualified teachers are there who provide quality education.

Remarks:

In Lucknow Christian degree college Admission process was based on the merit of class 12 percentage because I took admission during Covid, now Admission is based on the entrance exam, the Application form was online and costs me 800 rupees. Reservation was there who belong to the Christianity religion as it was Christian College.
