IIT Kharagpur LLB Admissions 2024 are open. IIT Kharagpur is now accepting applciations for admission to LLB program and the application deadline is January 31, 2024.  IIT Kharagpur offers a 3-years full-time residential LLB course through Rajiv Gandhi School of Intellectual Property Law (RGSOIPL). It is offered with a specialization in IP Rights. The LLB course of IIT Kharagpur is spread over 6 semesters. A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree is required with first class for applying to LLB. Admission to IIT Kharagpur LLB is based on the Entrance Test followed by an Interview. For LL.B programs, the candidates need to fill the application form online and make a payment of INR 2500 (INR 1250 for SC/ST/ PWDs).

• Candidates must have a Bachelor's degree in Engineering / Technology / Medicine or equivalent.

•  Candidates must have a Masters in Science or Pharmacy or equivalent.

• They must have completed MBA with 60% marks (55% for SC/ST/PWD) in aggregate.

IIT Kharagpur LLB Admission Criteria

• Shortlisting for LLB course at IIT KGP is done on the basis of merit obtained in the qualifying exam as well as the marks obtained in the entrance test conducted by the university. 
• The shortlisted candidates will further have to appear for a personal interview.
• The final selection is based on marks secured in the entrance test and performance in interview.
• The weights assigned to the above components are as follows:

Key Points:

• The CGPA will not be converted into percentage marks if the degree awarding institute provides marks in CGPA system. 
• The admission of the candidates will be based on the CGPA awarded in their transcript.
•  If the CGPA is on a different scale other than 10.0, the eligibility of the candidate will be calculated corresponding to the equivalence stated as above.

IIT Kharagpur LLB Entrance Test Details

IIT Kharagpur LLB entrance examination is a 2 hours Computer Based Test (CBT). It has 6 sections namely: English, Logical Reasoning, Mathematical Ability, Basic and Legal Aptitude. The exam consists of objective type questions and is of total 200 marks. There will be no negative marking for an incorrect answer

The computer based test (CBT) for the LLB admissions contains two papers. The part 1 of the paper is conducted for Mathematics and Science. Part 2 of the paper is conducted for English, Logical reasoning, and Legal aptitude. Marks alloted to each paper is as follows:

Part I consists of following sections:

• Mathematics 15 marks
• Science (Physics, Chemistry and Biology) 35 marks

Part II consists of following sections:

• English 60 marks
• Logical Reasoning 20 marks
• Legal Aptitude 70 marks

There will be multiple choice based questions (Sample questions are made available in this portal). There is no negative Marking. To get shortlisted for the second round i.e. PI, it is mandatory to obtain minimum 35% marks in each of Part I and Part II of CBT. Only shortlisted candidates who qualify CBT will be called for PI. For final selection, PI is compulsory.

6. Lastly, submit the duly-filled application form.
