Placement:

I'm still studying. Most of the thesis students tend to continue and do their Ph.D. than go for industrial jobs. If students are interested to go into industrial jobs, they may get paid around 50,000 CAD/year for the research positions.

Internship:

I don't have co-op/internship for my program.

Placement:

The placements as promised by the university is very good. Students can get a job easily if they put enough effort into their studies which most students do as well.

This university is affordable along with a very nice location in Canada. It is a fair acceptance rate and good courses at its disposal.

Yes, there are maybe on-campus jobs and internships. I myself am a Research Assistant at the University in the Department of Geography. This is a paid position for $15.5 per hour. I got this job through a professor I had this past year. He offered the position to me during the semester.

I have known about McGill University since I was around the age of 15. I discovered it one day when I was walking the streets of Montreal with my family. Four years later, I found myself intrigued by McGill, it's a beautiful campus and it's a wide choice of great programs. The admission process, from what I remember, was pretty straightforward.

Because of it's reputation in research and because it was an English school in my area. I also really did not want to leave the province I am living in so McGill seemed like the clear choice. It also had an option to apply to honours in my second year which I really liked as it would motivate me to stay on top of my work in my first year.

The cost, as well as the opportunity to get away from my hometown. Plus, my college was recommended to me by many of my mentors and peers. I was also particularly interested in double majoring in econ and compsci, and I heard both programs here were pretty good. Most of the other colleges I got into were engineering focused or forced me to choose one or the other.

Internship:

My college did not directly provide me with an internship but I was able to obtain one that was unpaid (volunteer). I worked as a research assistant in a lab for 1 year in the faculty of surgery (surgical innovation). The overall experience was positive and I learned a lot about project management, leadership, and organization.

It is the most elite/highest ranked university in my province (Quebec), as well as highly distinguishable worldwide and in Canada. Further, as a science major, I was heavily influenced by the research-centered ideology of McGill.

No, but offers Career services to help find internships.

High International student percentage, Top university in Canada, good employment prospects. Most importantly, located in Canada, which has a very open immigration policy for students who study and work in the country.
