National Institute of Fashion Technology is one of the most popular fashion education institutes in New Delhi and was established in 1986. The institute offers UG and PG courses in the fashion stream. As a purpose of UG programs, the institute offers 2 courses i.e. Bachelor of Design and Bachelor of Fashion Technology. B.Des
Candidates need to appear for the Creative Ability Test (CAT) and General Ability Test (GAT). The shortlisted candidates will further have to appear for a Situation Test. In the final merit list, CAT score is assigned 50% weightage, GAT score is assigned 30% weightage while Situation Test is assigned 20% weightage. GAT (General Ability Test) for B.Des is a written test of a total duration of 120 minutes. It consists of 100 questions divided among several sections namely Quantitative Ability, Communication Ability, English Comprehension, Analytical Ability, General Knowledge and Current Affairs.
B.FTech
The selection process to B.FTech comprises General Ability Test (GAT).
GAT (General Ability Test) for B.FTech is a written test of a total duration of 180 minutes and consists of 150 questions divided among several sections namely Quantitative Ability, Communication Ability & English Comprehension, Analytical & Logical Ability, General Knowledge and Current Affairs, Case Study.

The candidates must appear for the CAT and GAT exam. Those shortlisted in the examination shall further be called for the GD/ PI round. CAT score shall be given 40% weightage, GAT score shall be given 30% weightage while GD/ PI score shall be given 30% weightage.
GAT (General Ability Test) for M.Des is a written test of a total duration of 120 minutes and consists of 120 questions divided among several sections namely Quantitative Ability, Communication Ability, English Comprehension, Analytical Ability, General Knowledge and Current Affairs.
MFM/M.F Tech
The candidates need to appear for the GAT Entrance Exam. The shortlisted candidates shall be further called for the GD/ PI rounds. GAT carries a weightage of 70% and GD/ PI score carries a weightage of 30%.
