Likes
- I chose this course because I had always wanted to opt for the tech field, and this college was the best option for me at that time.
- Companies such as Google and Amazon offer internships at UIET Chandigarh, and I believe that it is a fantastic opportunity.
- The placement of CS and IT is very good. However, students from ME, EEE, and ECE prefer appearing for gate, cat, or ies exams instead of opting for placements. The placement opportunities for core branches are not as good.
- The Punjab government provides scholarships for their students, and there is also a scholarship available for economically weaker section (EWS) students. Additionally, IOCL also provides a very good scholarship.
- Extracurricular activities were very good, and the labs were in excellent condition to perform any activity in accordance with the course syllabus.
- The best part about Panjab University is its hostels. All in all, there are 8 boys hostels and 12 girls hostels.
- The Colleges placement is excellent; almost 98% of students are placed in good companies every year.
Dislike
- The course structure is quite clear, but at that time, teachers mainly focus on theoretical papers. They do not concentrate on practical work, even in the lab.
- On average, the placement ratio was close to 60%, with the rest either not eligible or not getting a job.
- 3) EWS scholarship is for weaker sections. 4) Merit cum means scholarship is for parents with lower income.
- The hostel infrastructure is so bad that most of the time there is no water. Additionally, they cut off the power supply between 9:00 am and 6:00 pm.
- The college infrastructure is very poor. There are four buildings, but the fans are also not functioning. The washrooms are in such a terrible condition that we cannot even use them. They are unclean. Additionally, there is only one building with a lift facility, which is not operational.

Placement Experience:
Campus placements begin in the 7th semester. Usually near about 100 companies for on-campus placement. the average package goes around Rs 9,00,000 CSE, IT, and ECE students get 95% placed rest of the branches to depend on the companies visiting.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Remarks:
Candidates should have passed the 10+2 examination with Physics, Mathematics, and Chemistry/Biotechnology/Biology/Technical Vocational subjects, and should have obtained a minimum aggregate of 60% marks (55% for reserved categories) in the qualifying examination. Candidates must have appeared in the Joint Entrance Exam (JEE Main) conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA) and obtained a valid score. The admission will be based on the JEE Main score and the counselling conducted by the Joint Admission Committee (JAC). Candidates can apply for admission through the JAC website by filling out the online application form and paying the required fee. Placement Experience:
At UIET, Panjab University the placements are quite good for CSE and IT branches. Top package offering companies are samsung, Amazon, AMEX. Other MNC's like Deloitte, Infosys, KPMG etc. Come for on-campus offerings but with an average package of 4-5 lakhs. Lots of high package offering startups also offer jobs.

Placement Experience:
Well, Let's be Honest in this, after all this is what everyone looks for before joining the campus ; 1. Good amount of companies visit Campus each year 2. By good I mean 30-50 (At least at my time ~ 2022-2023) and quality is not good at all. 3. There are hardly 10 Companies that you can call really good companies with a good or decent package. 4. Others are just a bunch of startups with 2-3 people coming to Hire, or even are some local companies of Chandigarh. 5. But average placement goes around 6.5 Lakh usually and CSE /IT gets placed maximum.
Remarks:
I applied through JAC Counselling and they take in JEE Mains marks and min 75% in 12th is required at that time of admission. You can check JAC Website and there they update you about all processes and timelines and forms, as the process is virtually now done.
Placement Experience:
After the 7th-semester students are eligible for campus placement there are so many companies like Amazon, Google, Microsoft, Infosys, and so many and rest companies you can get on the website of UIET Chandigarh the higher package was 43 lac by cse branch. The average package is about 7.5 lac per annum. Almost 70 to 80 percent get placed. My plan wants to do MBA or MTech.
Remarks:
The eligibility is the jee mains percentile, we get admission on basis of JEE Mains percentile. We can get the application form (JAC Chandigarh's official website). It knows as JAC Chandigarh counseling. Detail of the reservation we can get on JAC Chandigarh counseling official website. Because it varies yearly I think it is quite an easy and fast process.
Placement Experience:
A lot of companies visit this campus. Core and IT company both used to visit here. In core branches like EEE, Mech around 50-60% of students get placed. 20-30% get placement in core companies, Amazon, American Express, Samsung, Deloitte, ZS etc these are the major companies which visit the college. From 6th sem students are eligible for sitting in placement. The highest package is 30 Lakh offered by Amazon (on campus) and 42 lahks by Microsoft (off campus) around 80-90% of students get placement.
Remarks:
Admission is strictly based on the marks in JEE Main examination. You have to go through JAC Chandigarh counselling process to get admission to this college. This comes under Panjab University, Chandigarh. The preferred branch for students is CSE. Mostly CSE cutoff goes up to 30k-35k Rank in JEE for general students.
Placement Experience:
students after the seventh semester are eligible for placements and our college has a dedicated placement cell. which provide good opportunities for students in the year 21-22 total offers were 434 and the total number of companies visited was 50+. and the average CTC was 7.69 and the highest package was 45 LPA by amazon. and about 70% of the total students were placed.
Remarks:
the eligibility is that you should have 75% marks in 12. and the admission is taken based on ranks of jee mains. you can find the application form on the JAC Chandigarh portal. and there are many types of different reservations so research carefully if you may lie in some category.
Placement Experience:
There is a placement cell in the college name the Training and placement cell. They provide on-campus placement offers an average package is 700000/ annum and there is also a research facility available on the campus named as TEC technology enabling center.

They gave obc, ncl benefit for obc students and other category students as well. They have a wide infrastructure of the overall department and this college comes under the Punjab university it has a campus area of approx. 900 acres.
Placement Experience:
From the 6th semester, students become eligible for campus placement. There are various companies that visit our college some of them are KPMG, AMAZON, DELOITTE, SAMSUNG, AMERICAN EXPRESS, TCS, INFOSYS, etc. The highest off-campus placement is 48 lakhs and on-campus is 32 lakhs. The average package is an overall of 9.52 lakh. Students of CSE and IT branch gets most of the good placement offers. Mechanical students generally prepare for the gate. Student can change their branch after 1st year with the help of the PUmEET EXAM. Almost 75 percent of the students get placed every year. My plan is to get a good placement from college or from an off-campus placement.
Remarks:
The admission process was based on our JEE Mains rank and through JAC CHANDIGARH Counseling. College does not have home-state benefits but it has various other reservations based on the category of students. There are specially mentioned seats for foreign students and students who belong to the border area or they are Kashmiri migrants. The sports category is also available there are some terms and conditions applied to it. Disabled/cancer patients students also have their reserved seats in it. Admission process is smooth u will get time to time updates on jac Chandigarh website.
Placement Experience:
The total offers on the campus recorded was 445 and the highest package offered was of worth 45 lakhs. There was a considerable rise in average CTC this year compared to the previous year (about a 38% increase). Companies like Amazon, Hitachi, Samsung, L'oreal, Byjus, Citi Bank and many more top recruiters came to the UIET campus for placements. This year the average annual package was 9.52 lakhs. Not only on-campus but Students of UIET also managed to land jobs in top companies through off-campus placements. The highest Package grabbed was 56 lacs. The companies that recruited them were Google, Walmart, Flipkart, CRED, Atlassian etc.
