Often, candidates tend to make errors when it comes to uploading their photographs in an online form as they do not adhere to the specified size, dimensions, or format. With the influx of a number of queries here are all the important details of the same. Here are some points to remember while filling NMAT Application form 2021

  • Candidates must keep the correct passport size photo in a scanned format ready before starting with the registration. The photograph should be in one of these formats: JPG, PNG, GIF. No landscaped or rotated pictures are allowed and the size should not exceed 1 MB.
  • If the size and dimension do not match the criteria, then the exam conducting authority for NMAT 2021 exam will reject the application.
  • After uploading the images, candidates must make the payment of NMAT application fee and complete the registration process.
  • Candidates who successfully register for NMAT exam will be eligible to appear for the examination.
  • Images in Admit Card must match with the images uploaded in the application form.

  • The applicant has to sign on white paper with a Black Ink pen.
  • The signature must be signed only by the applicant and not by any other person.
  • If the Applicant's signature on the answer script, at the time of the examination, does not match the signature on the Attendance Sheet, the applicant will be disqualified.

Candidates should note down certain technical directions mentioned below for scanning their photographs and signature properly.

  • Set the scanner resolution to a minimum of 200 dpi (dots per inch)
  • Set Color to True Color
  • Maintain the file size as specified above for both photograph and signature.
  • Crop the image in the scanner to the edge of the photograph/signature, then use the upload editor to crop the image to the final size (as specified above).
  • The image file should be in JPG or JPEG format. An example file name is: image01.jpg or image01.jpeg Image dimensions can be checked by listing the folder files or moving the mouse over the file image icon. Candidates using MS Windows/MS Office can easily obtain photos and signatures in .jpeg format not exceeding 50KB & 20KB respectively by using MS Paint or MS Office Picture Manager.
  • Scanned photograph and signature in any format can be saved in .jpg format by using the 'Save As' option in the File menu and size can be reduced below 50KB (photograph) & 20KB (signature) by using crop and then resize option [Please see points mentioned above for the pixel size] in the 'Image' menu. Similar options are available in other photo editors also.
  • If the file size and format are not as prescribed, an error message will be displayed. While filling in the Online Application Form the candidate will be provided with a link to upload his photograph and signature.

Applicants must go through the below-given dos and don’ts related to photograph & signature specifications and uploading to ensure smooth completion of NMAT application process.

Dos Don’ts

The photograph must be a recent passport-size one. Photographs should not be more than 5-6 months old.

Self-taken photographs or/and other such photographs taken with a low-quality gadget must be avoided.

Eyes should be open and clearly visible. Test taker’s face should be distinctly visible, straight, and at the center. Candidates must steer clear of using Facebook pictures or pictures from any such social media as they do not meet the requirements set.
It must be a colored photo taken on a white background. If not white background, then any light-colored background will also be acceptable. Dark background must be avoided at all costs as photographs in which any one of the distinctive features is unclear will be rejected.
The photo must be taken in a way that all the basic facial features like eyes, nose, hair, and also shoulder tops are visible. The eyes of candidates must not be closed. Also, landscaped and rotated photos will not be accepted.

The face must be facing straight and must not be in any other direction. Hence, candidates must be looking straight into the camera while getting their pic clicked.

A red-eyed photo or a photo with a flash on the lens might lead to outright rejection as under such situations the candidate’s eye is not visible for identification purposes.
The photograph must be without any loud or weird expressions, a straight face will serve the purpose. There must be no shadow falling on the face of candidates.
Candidates must upload an image of their signature done on white paper with a black ink pen only. Black & White photos should not be uploaded as they are strictly prohibited.
It is upon the candidates to ensure that the photograph that is uploaded will aid the staff of NMAT conducting authority to sufficiently recognize and verify that particular individual’s identity.   Sunglasses or any type of colored glasses should be avoided at all costs while taking photos for NMAT registration.

How to Upload Photograph and Signature for NMAT 2021?

Candidates can upload their scanned photograph and signature with the help of the below steps:

Step 1: Visit the official website of NMAT 2021 i.e. nmat.org.in.

Step 2: Login via your NMAT Credentials – Registration Number and password.

Step 3: The candidate’s portal will appear with a detailed application form.

Step 4: Enter the required information and then move for photo and signature upload.

Step 5: There will be two separate links for uploading Photograph and Signature.

Step 6: Click on the respective link "Upload Photograph / Signature".

Step 7: Browse & Select the location where the Scanned Photo / Signature file has been saved.

Step 8: Select the file and click the 'Upload' button.
