How is IIT Guwahati in terms of placement?

One of my cousins said that a student from the 2017 batch received the highest placement package of 97 LPA. He was an aeronautical engineer and received two different job offers. However, he wasn’t interested in doing a job and currently pursuing M.Tech.

A total of 120 students got placed in a single day at IIT Guwahati. This was seen as a record among all 24 IITs. IIT Guwahati has always provided good job opportunities, sometimes with a student receiving more than 1 job offer. This proves that IIT Guwahati has always provided satisfactory placements.

The placements are definitely great but they vary across the streams. The general data (2020) about placements are in the table below:

2019-20 has a 65.28% placement record for all the programmes. The major job profiles have been analyst, software development engineer, systems engineer and engineer trainee. The maximum students are from B. Tech and B. Des programmes.

• B.Tech & B.Des has 87.52% while M. Tech & M.Des has 51% placement records.
• The highest package has been constantly increasing from Rs.44 Lakh in 2018 to Rs.70 Lakh in 2020.
• The major recruiters are Google, Microsoft, Goldman Sachs, Texas, Adobe, Oracle, Walmart, SAP, Cisco, EXL, Intel, Axis Bank, Flipkart, American Express, Accenture and Uber.

IIT Guwahati has never failed to make its individuals the best choice among the rest in the market. Its reputation and knowledge base makes it an even more sure shot place to start your career ahead.
