Which is a better option for EE, IIT Gandhinagar, IIT Indore, or IIT Bhubaneswar?

SS
Shalini Sahu Posted On : March 30th, 2023
Studied at Indian Institute of Technology, Bhubaneswar (2018)

Be it any branch, I would always choose IIT Bhubaneswar over 2nd generation IITs such as IIT Gandhinagar and IIT Indore. Let’s discuss the worth of IIT Bhubaneswar in terms of common aspects like

  • Academics: An easy way to judge the academic standards of an Institute is to compare the quality and quantity of research papers published. In these terms, IIT Bhubaneswar has an evident advantage over IIT Gandhinagar.
  • Faculty: Another major criteria are the faculty as they are responsible for publishing papers. In this aspect too Bhubaneswar has an upper hand as it has professors from IIT Kharagpur and Kanpur teaching in various departments in the institute. It also has foreign professors that provide the necessary exposure.
  • Sports: IIT Bhubaneswar owns this one as it is the first of the 2nd Gen IITs to be co-hosting the INTER-IIT sports meet in 2019. This fact in itself is a testament to the excellent infrastructural facilities.
  • Infrastructure: IIT Bhubaneswar has excellent sports as well as other facilities in the form of cricket, and football; courts for tennis, badminton, volleyball, and table tennis; gym facilities in both the girls' and boys' hostels and the new swimming pool.
  • Extracurricular: Several societies and councils are supported by the Institute that promotes extracurricular culture. The college has participated in the Inter-IIT cultural meet in various events such as music, drama, literature, debating, and also dance.
  • Hostel: The accommodation facilities are top notch with more than basic amenities such as Washing machines, water heaters, 24-hour water supply, and two common rooms with TVs for all the hostellers to watch exciting matches together. The hostel has 24/7 Wi-Fi facilities and is a great place to make friends.

IIT Bhubaneswar is an excellent place to create memories and enjoy a rich college experience.

Which is a better option: IIT Guwahati CSE, IIT BHU CSE, IIT Bombay mech or IIT Kharagpur electrical and electronics communication?

I assume that you haven’t decided on a specific branch and hence you have multiple options open from different institutes and branches. Before I give you my suggestion it’s important to know that most non-CS students at IIT Bombay and IIT Kharagpur try to get a job in CS only. For this, they learn programming and sit for non-core placements.

For the same reason, I am recommending you join either BHU or Guwahati (CSE).

  • BHU is known for its elaborate and old alumni base leading to better placements whereas Guwahati speaks highly of its infrastructure.
  • BHU has much better connectivity owing to its city locations whereas Guwahati is situated outside the city.
  • Guwahati has a larger faculty pool than BHU

In the end unless you are a North-Eastern, BHU is the best option for you. Either way you are good to go and thus can make a decision that suits your location.

Which is better IIT Delhi EE or IIT Roorkee ECE?

AG
Ashish Gupta Posted On : April 10th, 2023

Although many might not agree, I think ECE is much better than electrical engineering. People tend to choose IID mainly because of the brand name that comes attached to it. If the tag was to be negated, then by all terms IIT Roorkee is better than IIT Delhi’s Electrical Engineering.

Moreover, I feel Electrical has too much workload both in IIT Delhi as well as Roorkee. This does not save you time for extracurricular activities.

Delhi is one of the most polluted cities in India and does affect the overall educational experience of the students. Although my personal suggestion is to opt for IIT Roorkee ECE, it’s better to talk to students from both institutes and branches.

Which is better for EE, IIT Roorkee or IIT KGP?

AJ
Advait Joshi Posted On : April 15th, 2023
Lives in Mumbai, Maharashtra, India

Both IIT Roorkee and IIT Kharagpur are well-renowned institutions for electrical engineering studies. It all depends on personal preferences and priorities. Some students may prefer the academic focus of IIT Roorkee, while others may prefer the research opportunities at IIT Kharagpur. Both institutes have equally good labs and research facilities. However, IIT KGP being the oldest has a slight advantage over IIT Roorkee.

  • IIT KGP boasts a massive and beautiful campus
  • It has numerous international collaborations
  •  2/*7 wifi facility is available within the campus with an average speed of 7–9 Mbps.
  • Every hostel room at IIT KGP has 3 LAN ports with 70–80 MBPS speed.
  • DC++ is available at IIT KGP
  • IIT KGP lets students explore their interests through a wide variety of clubs.
  • IIT KGP brand name will make you employable in the international market.
  • IIT KGP is going to become the first smart college in India with 3 helipads, and an Ola pedal.

All these points prove that IIT KGP is a better option than IIT Roorkee for EE.

Should I take eee at MSIT or take a drop and go to Kota?

AR
Aditi Rao Posted On : June 18th, 2021
Studied at Govind Ballabh Pant Engineering College, Delhi (2020)

Before taking a drop for a year the question you should be asking yourself is are you taking a drop to prove yourself or is it because you want to be an IITian? This question can be answered solely by you.

If you are planning on enrolling your name in some coaching institute then strictly be true to their rules and schedule. You should avoid any extra curriculum and sincerely focus on your studies. Make sure to prepare earnestly and appear for all the exams and mock tests at your institute. Since the competition would be tough you need to buckle up to win.

You will have to be innovative in order to score well as the coaching institute would impart knowledge on certain areas only. To be the best out of the rest you need to pour extra effort. JEE Advanced requires your ability to be innovative with concept application instead of mugging up.

EEE at MSIT would be a decent option if you’re not willing to risk a drop for a year. You can be selected via on-campus placements if you put in the required effort. The faculty here is quite cooperative. The package offers are extremely good too. Here are the recent placement highlights for EEE at MSIT.

Average CTC

4 LPA

Highest CTC

16 LPA

If you have set your mind on taking a drop then prepare to work really hard.

Is Kakatiya University good for EEE?

KS
Kritika Sinha Posted On : September 23rd, 2022
B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering & Fluid and Thermal Engineering, Kakatiya University

Kakatiya University isn’t a great option for EEE. The faculty-student ratio isn’t satisfactory. The departmental labs are average. You won’t receive decent placement and industry exposure. Although KU has taken some initiatives to make the placements better, there haven’t been any remarkable changes. Only mass recruiters such as TCS visit Kakatiya University placements to recruit EEE students.

Can I get EEE or ECE at MAIT? I got 67 percentile (Delhi Region)?

AC
Anindita Chakraborty Posted On : June 23rd, 2021
Studied at Indian Institute of Mass Communication, Delhi (2019)

Yes, with this percentile you will be able to get EEE or ECE at MAIT. You should be really interested in building your career in EEE or ECE as both of them are very different from each other and you will get to explore different career opportunities in both these fields. You should do in-depth research about both these branches and then make a final decision.

  • To get admission, you need to fill-up the form after qualifying your JEE mains, where you have to fill the choice of branch and college at each round and then wait till the end of each round.
  • There are no reserved seats or quota available and students get admission through spot rounds.
  • And if you don't get EEE or ECE, there is also an option for branch upgradation in the first semester, but for this, you need to score more than 80% marks in your semester-end exams.

Hence, you will be able to get a seat in EEE or ECE at MAIT, but need to wait till the last round of counseling, as there are no reserved seats or quota available for these branches.
