Remarks :
I gave JEE Mains exam, and there was JOSAA Councelling through which students got admitted into various NITs. The fees for JOSAA is 35000, which is later reduced from the fee that you have to pay at your institute.
Course Curriculum Overview :
The course curriculum for Chemical Engineering includes subjects like fluid mechanics, thermodynamics, chemical reaction engineering, mass transfer phenomena, reactor designing, etc. The faculty members are well qualified and have good knowledge of the subject, but in college, no one pays attention to the lectures and so it's all about that last day of study to pass the exams. There are 2 sessional examinations and one end sem exam, the papers set are difficult to moderate with about 40-50% of questions from the previous 5-year papers, so one can easily pass by studying this much.
Internships Opportunities :
Companies provide on-campus internship opportunities to students from the 5th semester onwards. Usually, cse people get a large number of intern opportunities, but other branches also get some. The average stipend is around 50k per month for an internship excluding the accommodation costs in that city. I have got an internship in Accenture, with a stipend of 50k this year.
Placement Experience :
Usually from the 7th semester onwards, companies start visiting the campus for providing on-campus placements to the students. 5% of students opt for further studies immediately after their graduation and don't sit in the placements. 108 companies visited our college last year and the average package was around 9 lacs. This year as well, a lot of companies have arrived already and 70% of final year students are already placed. The highest package for the 2022 batch up to now is 68 lacs per annum.
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :
There is a fee waiver that any category student can avail of in the college. You just need an income certificate to prove your income range for availing of this scholarship. If your family income is below 5 lakhs, then you will get a 2/3rd study fee waiver, which is around 83000 per year into your bank account directly. A form is circulated by the college staff only for availing of this scholarship. If your income is below 1 lakh, then you will get a 100% fee waiver. Talking about jobs, all the students who sit in placement get a job easily, it is a 2-3 round process, the last round being the interview. Taking a dream job with a 15 lac+ CTC is tough, but getting a decent job with around 8-9 lac CTC is very easy.
Campus Life :
Campus life is very exciting. You don't realize how time flies as there is a lot one can do throughout the day. There is n number of clubs related to academics, cult activities, sports, etc. I am a part of the Entrepreneurship Cell which promotes startup culture inside the college. The consortium is the name of E-Summit, Aarohi is the cult fest and Axis is the tech fest of VNIT. Books and all are easily available in the library, and you can study there as well. there is good internet connectivity throughout the campus. Sports facilities are also amazing inside the college, there is a football ground, a full-size cricket ground, 4 international badminton courts, 4 tennis courts, basketball courts, volleyball courts, kabaddi court, various indoor games, athletics and one Olympic size swimming pool which is under construction.
Hostel Facilities :
The hostel facility is decent, there are 8 boys hostel and 2 girls hostel. Lan connection is provided for internet inside the hostels. For 1st year, there are triple occupancy rooms, double occupancy rooms for 2nd year and from 3rd year we get single rooms. The mess food is decent, breakfast is usually very good, and lunch and dinner are not up to the mark. For Hostel and Mess registration, a form is circulated in the college, and then we need to pay the fee. The fee is approximately 83000 per year including both mess and hostels.
