The reality of the life in VNIT Nagpur campus

Remarks :

Admission took place by josaa followed by csab counselling The cutoff for Metallurgical and Materials Engineering was around 56000 general rank The total fee for academics in vnit for a year is 133000 Rs for the general category and reservation benefits are there for people having yearly income less than 500000 Lpa.

Course Curriculum Overview :

I choose this course because I am interested in Material science and engineering For the Department of Metallurgical and Materials Engineering around 30 professors are there The minimum qualification for the faculty is Phd in respective fields Exams are taken 2 times in a Semester, one mid-sem exam and one end-sem exam

Internships Opportunities :

Not many internship opportunities are provided in college but the training and placement team always supports students to find internship opportunities in core as well as non core companies But You can do an internship with the guidance of your professor in the department

Placement Experience :

From the end of 6th semester, students are eligible for the campus placement Many Core and non-core companies visit our campus, the average package for this year is around 12 LPA and the highest package offered is 64 LPA for 10 students. The percentage of placement depends from department to department but on average 94% of the students get placed

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :

The total academic fee for one year is 133000 Rs but the students having a total yearly family income of less than 500000 get 2/3 rd fee remission and the students having less than 100000 Rs family income get 100% fee remission

Campus Life :

The campus life of vnit is amazing. Many fests take place throughout the year Like Aarohi, Axis etc. Plenty of books and journals are available in Vnit Library and the library is open 24 hrs Many sports competitions and events also take place in college throughout the year Ecell, prayas etc are some clubs run by students

Hostel Facilities :

Basic facilities like tube light, fan, bed, cupboards, Chair and table, lan port and wifi are provided in the hostel room Meal quality is pretty good compared to the other colleges' mess and the timetable menu changes weekly The room rest, mess and other facilities cost around 77000 Rs per year which includes students' medical insurance and gym

Course Curriculum Overview:

The professor is highly knowledgeable they are very supportive if we find any difficulty from any problem then they help a lot with it. Exams are in every month and final semester exams are there If we study hard then exams are not tough. Negative point is that sometimes faculty say anything bad so it gets irritated.

From the 7th semester onwards students are eligible for placements. Companies like Google, Microsoft, Amazon, TCS, and the core companies for every branch would come for placements every year. The highest package for the CS branch this year was 66 LPA CTC, and the average was 22 LPA. Approx. 97% percent of students got placed in a good company. I also want to get a high-paying job after my degree.

There are so many placements in college, Even if you missed a college placement you can still secure the same job, just their process is a little bit more complicated, but don't worry you can take the same opportunity. While campus placement involves companies reaching out to you.
