Remarks :
The admission was through josaa counselling based on my jee rank. It was an honest process following all the guidelines. Admission happened smoothly without any obstacles. I was eligible for the 4 years B Tech CSE course and applied for the same. Application for admission was done through the website of josaa. I am fully satisfied with the admission process and hence see no need for any kind of improvement.
Course Curriculum Overview :
I chose this course because of the high placement percentage and good placement packages. There are enough faculty members for all the students. Most of the faculties are highly skilled in their subjects and are very good at making the students understand the concept. The faculties are all PhD holders in their respective subjects and have good ranks in gate exams too. Initially, due to late admission because of COVID, the terms were short and so was the time gap between the semester exams. This, it was a bit hard to cope with the speed. But after the first 2 semesters, everything went to normal and we do get around 3.5 to 4 months for each semester. The end-semester exams are relatively easy but the quizzes are set by your class teachers and can differ based on difficulty.
Internships Opportunities :
The major roles provided in my branch are as a software engineer in companies like Amazon, Microsoft, Walmart, Wells Fargo, etc. There are good placements as an electronics and communication engineer too. Also, some companies hire mechanical engineers. But mostly, the placement is in the IT sector. There is a dedicated training and placement cell for the help of students in getting internships and placements. They look after the internship and placement processes for the students who are trying to get through on-campus placements.
Placement Experience :
Students become eligible for campus placements from the 7th semester. Many big companies visit the college like Microsoft, Goldmann Sachs, Sprinkler, Wells Fargo, Walmart, Amazon, etc. The highest package in CSE was around 55 lpa last year and the average hovers at around 12-13 lpa. In CSE, there is 100% placement although, in other non-circuital branches, the placement scenario is not that good. I plan to take a good-paying job as a software engineer after getting the degree.
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :
There was no major fee hike. The cost was relatively higher compared to goverment colleges but it is understandable as it is only half managed by the government and mostly managed by private authorities.
Campus Life :
The annual fest is named bitotsav and it is conducted around March or February the name of the tech-fest is pantheon and it is considered in around September or October. The library has most of the books available in sufficient quantities. Especially, for reserved categories, there are extra books reserved for them. The classrooms are well equipped, we have ACs, fans, good lighting, and smart projector-based classes. The sports facilities are also very good. We have 2 big grounds, a 400m track, and multiple basketball, badminton, and volleyball courts. There is a well-equipped gym too. All the hostels have their separate badminton and volleyball courts too. There are many clubs run by students in many fields like sports, programming, music, drama, art, etc.
Hostel Facilities :
The hostel facility is quite good. All the male student's single rooms after the first year. There is lan provided though it mostly stays down. The electricity is good but there are power cuts in some hostels. Meals are good in some hostels and not in others. The hostel is allocated by the authorities after admission and they keep changing it after a few semesters. It is mandatory to get a hostel room as BIT is a residential college.
