The CSE Department is the most popular department here. This year highest package gone for 44 LPA. Teacher are also good enough and all of them have Ph.D. degrees. There are four exam in a semester , 1. Seasonal 1 (25 Marks ), Mid term (40 Marks) , Seasonal 2 (25 Marks ) , End term (60 Marks)
The Course curriculum is rather a tedious one and in my opinion, is hectic in a way for the students. During the initial two and a half years of my B. Tech we had to attend classes from morning till evening and it was draining for the students built on the 6th, 7th, and 8th semesters the pressure is relieved a bit. The University provides a good infrastructure for the labs and the classrooms and is very clean. The faculty is also well-educated and well-trained in their respective topics. They are also very open and approachable for the maximum of the time. The student ratio varies in all departments. I would say the male-to-female ratio would be 60:40. The university holds 4 exams: first test, mid-term, second test, and end them. The exam difficulty level was moderate, but the marking criteria depended totally on the professor. Even though maximum teachers were unbiased, there may have been some partiality.
The course curriculum is like any other engineering college and most of the faculties are Ph.D. holders in their domain from prestigious institutes. There are 4 exams in a semester, so sometimes it becomes a bit hectic.
I had to choose the course because seats were avail only under this category in the 2nd counselling. There are more than 2 teachers for each subject. Teachers are highly qualified and most of the guest faculties are also passed out from foreign universities. Because of the covid, we had late admissions so now we have to complete the course within 4 months instead of 6, that's why we are having exams every month(2 seasonal and 1 midterm,1 end term). So you can say there are exams after every 15 days but you get used to it.
Student teacher ratio is 1:10. Faculties here are highly qualified most of them are Ph.D. from iits, foreign universities or months. Exams. Soana Seth mam, Biplop Sarkar sir, Lokesh Mohan sir, Pankaj Kumar Gogoi sir are few faculties here. Exam are more frequent here. If you are taking admission here then keep in mind that exams will frequently happen at an interval of 1 or 2 months. Exams are easy to pass if you have studied attentively in class.
There are two unit tests and semester exams in 6months. After getting admission to TU , for 1-2 months you have to give unit test-1 and then you should give mid-sem. exam and then you will again give unit test -2 and then you lastly give your end semester examination.
The course curriculum and academic is a bit hectic here. One has to study from the beginning of the semester to get good grades. Faculty are well qualified and most of them have PhDs from reputed colleges and universities.
The placement and faculty of mechanical engineering are very good. Most of the professors have done PhD from IIT, NIT, BITS and foreign universities. There are a total of 12 faculty members and approx 65 students in Mechanical engineering. classes start regularly on time and have 5 days of classes in a week. teachers are much more disciplined and take classes on time. there are everyday practical classes in TU .75 % ATTENDANCE is a must for appearing in end sem exam. curriculum for each semester is designed for 4-5 months and there is a total of 4 exams in each sem. you have to pass in order to go in next semester. Exams are not too hard, if you go to classes regularly then you will secure good marks in your exam. Exams are taken very tightly in TU, So there is no scope for cheating.
I have a great interest in semiconductor and their application, and this college has 262 acres of lush green campus so I opted for this for better opportunity. Also University had a very good student faculty ratio of 6:1 which helps students to easily clear their doubts and provide personal assistance. Most of the professors had completed their p.h.d. from IITs and foreign Universities. That's why they had a graet knowledge of the curriculum and syllabus and teach us with great interest. They also conduct one lab of each subject every week so we can also understand the practical knowledge of the course. There are exams conducted in every 45 days to regularly monitor the performance of the students.
Cource curriculum is good and updated as per Central government guidelines. There are excellent facilities teaching us professors are highly qualified PhD mainly from IITS and post doctoret from foreign universities and also very Interactive and always manage to solve any problem faced by us whether it's academic or personal. There is 7:1 student- faculty . Term exams are held timely and results for every exam is published within assigned date. And if one just even focus on classes it is very easy to qualify every term exams. Also lab and other activities are done regularly. There is a mendate of 75% attendence in every course in order to sit in examination..

Admission to Tezpur University is solely based on the JEE Mains exam and students are called for counselling after releasing the merit list. The courses and admission procedures are detailed on the university website and are easy and simple. During my time the counselling was done in person and we had to go to the university for it but after COVID, situations have changed and counselling is done online now. The reservation benefits can also be availed in the admission process per government norms.
MABy - Muzammil AhmedThe admission is based on the score in CUET and the subject of choice. One has to appear in CUET conducted by NTA and after the result has to apply to the Tezpur University website separately after which on the basis of merit admission is offered.
SBy - StudentI got admission through the NCL quota of the OBC category in the 2nd counselling (spot round). The admission process is really slow, could have added more digitalization. As we, the students, have to go one after another for the document verification and payment process plus we have to fill up some forms which could have been made avail earlier on the website.
