•    On July 15th, 1941 the college was started with the name as Maharaja Manindra Chandra College. On 2nd December, 1964, College was renamed as Maharani Kasiswari College in the memory of the Late Maharani.

NSS Activities
The College offers the National Service Scheme - Unit I service to the students which is sponsored by the University of Calcutta. All the students are encouraged to participate in the NSS activities as per their interest. This scheme includes the participation in the drive against illiteracy, First Aid Training, fighting against communalism and provincialism, also for the environment awareness and so on.  
NCC Activities
From July 2004, the NCC Unit of Maharani Kasiswari came into action. These activities are basically introduced to motivate every student to become mentally independent and physically strong. Some of the best ex-cadets have also joined Mountaineering Department, Kolkata Police Department, air services, etc. and with pure excellence are performing their duties.
