How MAHE Fared with the 2020 Placement Season During the Pandemic

MAHE has once again stood out and has recorded a cent per cent placement in the placement session 2020-21. As placement is one of the strong points of MAHE, several top companies visit Manipal Academy of Higher Education.

The year 2020 has been very challenging for higher educational institutions, one of the toughest tasks to deal with was the placement. For most of the higher education institutions, the year 2020-21 was not a very promising placement season. However, MAHE has performed well in terms of placement due to its reputation and several partnerships with companies.

MAHE is widely acknowledged for its placement, the dedicated placement cell of the university ensures to provide ample career opportunities to its students.

MAHE Placement 2020

Manipal University has a dedicated placement cell and team headed by the Associate Director (Industrial Liaison, Placements and Practice School), comprising faculty and student coordinators from each department. 

As per the statistics, every year over 250+ companies visit the university campus for recruitment.

In the placement session of 2020, over 292 recruiters participated in the recruitment drive. Out of the 292 recruiters, 50 of the companies were amongst the Fortune 500 MNCs.

The recent statistics of MAHE show that over 950+ students were placed in the year 2020. The Highest CTC was recorded at INR. 43.31 LPA while the average CTC stood at INR. 7.50 LPA. 

Some of the top recruiters who participated in the 2020 placement drive were - Accenture, Capgemini, Cleartax, Dell, Deloitte, Goldman Sachs, KPMG, HPE, L&T, MyGate, TCS, and etc.

MAHE Top Recruiters

In the placement session of 2020, For Manipal Institute of Technology (MIT), Manipal, Accenture emerged as the top recruiter by offering over 133 offers. Following Accenture, TCS and Capgemini offered 44 and 41 placement offers respectively. The Table below displays the top recruiters of MAHE for the academic year 2020.

MAHE Placement 2020 Sector Wise

The placement session of 2020 highlighted that the maximum number of students have been placed under the core category of jobs. Around 83% of the students were placed in the core category roles, while the remaining 17% of students were offered IT sector jobs.

Out of the total 1089 recruiting teams, 907 teams belonged to the core jobs. While the rest of the recruiting teams were from the IT sector during the placement session of 2020.

For the MIM Manipal Institute of Management (Formerly known as School of Management(SOM), the batch of 180 students witnessed over many regular and first-time recruiter’s recruiters participating in the campus recruitment process. 

The job roles offered in the sector of Finance, Sales and Marketing, Consulting, Operations, Strategy, General Management, and HR were well spread out across.

As per the statistics, the average CTC stood at 5.2 Lakhs Per annum. While the highest pay package offered stood at a staggering ₹9 lakhs per annum. The Sector wise placement revealed Healthcare, Finance, IT, Marketing and Analytics accounting for most of the offers.
