Ques. What should I choose between Manipal computer science vs BITS Goa electronics and instrumentation (no interest in a particular branch)?
ā Top Answer By Keshav Jindal on 05 Aug 21
Ans.Many of my friends are alumni of Manipal and BITS, so I can help you out with your question.
Based on the conversations I had with my friends, I will say that it’s not fair to compare Manipal and BITS. Given the choice, you should choose BITS.
After doing CS from any institute, you can expect a job in IT. But you can opt for the IT sector from any discipline from BITS. Here is why you should choose BITS.
The peer group at BITS is better.
The faculty at BITS is highly qualified.
BITS is definitely more reputed. The tag does offer certain advantages.
Here is a brief outline of both colleges.

Ques. How is the B.Tech biotechnology branch at Manipal University main campus?
ā Top Answer By Sapna Malik on 28 Jun 21
Ans.Biotechnology is a budding branch that is good enough to get you working in the industry instead of the research field. The curriculum deals with industrial purposes like bioprocess engineering, design of industrial equipment,bio-reaction engineering, etc.
Despite the decent subject and scope, pursuing B.Tech biotechnology from Manipal University's main campus is not a wise thing to do. Here’s why
My cousin has just completed his B.Tech in Biotechnology from Manipal University's main campus.
According to his experience, the academics are great, the faculty is helpful, and the facilities are up to the mark.
But the major downfall is that the placement scenario is not good.
You have to accept the fact that you won’t get campus placement if you opt for this branch in Manipal University's main campus.
However, the branch has numerous opportunities once you step out of the campus, and you can grab various outside campus placement opportunities.
All in all, Manipal University's main campus provides good academics and learning experiences for the biotechnology branch. If you are interested in research, you can do a minor specialization in genetic engineering and pharmacy.Read more

Ques. Which is a better place to pursue MPH: Manipal University or IIPH?
ā Top Answer By Bhawna Vedwal on 28 Jul 21
Ans.My sister is pursuing MPH from IIPH and the University of Hyderabad. She is going to graduate in April of 2022. MPH in both Manipal and IIPH is structured in the same manner.
Here are the advantages of IIPH though:
IIPH has is a public health organization and it aims towards public health only.
Most of the IIPH professors are serving as guest faculty of Manipal too. You can assume the quality of education these professors offer.
IIPH courses are cost-effective too when you compare them to Manipal's.
You will discover brilliant Faculty members at IIPH like the esteemed epidemiologist Dr. Raghupathy Achla; Dr. Rajan Shukla of Health Policy and Dr. Nand Kishore Kannuri.
If you compare IIPH's faculty with any other institute's, then only TISS gets the upper hand.
As for working abroad, there are good chances but if you plan to work for India, then be aware of the ground realities because it's very different. The placement rate is about 80% but if you have the requisite skills then you should not worry at all.Read more
