Which is better, ECE at IIT Guwahati or CSE in IIT Bhubaneswar?

It's important to note that both IIT Guwahati and IIT Bhubaneswar are considered tier-1 Indian engineering colleges. These colleges strive to provide their engineering students with the maximum possible facilities to increase their probability of gauging industry demands and gaining relevant skills.
At such popular Indian engineering colleges, most students choose to either practice computer programming to become computer engineers (earning between 5-50 LPA depending on skills) or become managers in the industry based on luck and personal preference (earning between 5-15 LPA depending on academic credentials from a college). For computer engineering positions, companies are interested in TopCoder and GitHub profiles rather than academic credentials.

If your branch of choice is not CSE then it is better to opt for ECE at IIT Guwahati. IIT Guwahati is an older IIT and has produced a vast number of alumni as compared to the newly established IIT Bhubaneswar also IIT Guwahati is more recognized among companies. The placement scenario at IIT Guwahati for ECE is also quite impressive, in the academic year 2018-19, there was 84% placement from the ECE branch with an average package of 11 LPA. Although CSE in IIT Bhubaneswar is also a good option, in 2019 the placement rate for CSE was 100%.
However, the campus location of IIT Guwahati provides a conducive environment for scholars. The hostel and internet facilities are also excellent at IITG. ECE department at IIT Guwahati also comprises of renowned and experienced faculty members. On the contrary, IIT Bhubaneswar had faculty shortage in the recent past.
Both are good options so choose the institute based on your choice of branch.
