Ques. What should I choose, NITK mechanical or NIT Puducherry CSE?

● Top Answer By Muskan Sharma on 22 Sept 21

Ans. It depends upon what subject you would like to pursue. Here are some of the factors that may help you decide between NITK and NIT Puducherry.  In terms of the name and brand value, the reputation of NIT Karnataka Surathkal is unmatched. NIT-K is the 13th NIT in India, according to the 2020 NIRF rankings, while NIT Puducherry does not have a NIRF ranking. In terms of infrastructure, NIT-K is relatively ahead of NIT Puducherry. Most essentially, NIT-K is recognized around the nation for its academics, newly enhancing research impetus, and curriculum. NITK also has a great placement record. The average CTC offered at the institute is 14 LPA. While the average CTC offered at NIT Puducherry is 6 LPA. If you don’t have any inclination towards a specific branch then you should choose NITK.Read more

Ques. What is the placement scenario in nit warangal, nit trichy and nit surathkal for mtech in electrical branch?

● Top Answer By Aaditya Hari Nair on 04 Sept 21

Ans. My brother did his M.Tech from NITC. Here is his insight into the general placement scenario for MTech at NITs.  Over the years it has been seen that the placements for M.Tech students are comparatively less as most of the companies demand B.Tech graduates as the freshers or even experienced candidates. However, in some cases, M.Tech students are considered, like in research and development-oriented jobs. However, most industries prefer B.Tech over M.Tech.  After pursuing M.Tech your area gets narrower due to which the situation becomes very tricky for both the employers and the candidates applying for. As far as all the colleges are concerned the placement statistics are not so good for M.Tech students. In the recent placement drives, the average CTC offered at NIT Warangal, NIT Trichy and NIT Surathkal were respectively 21 LPA, 6 LPA, and 11 LPA. Read more

Ques. Which is better, NIT Trichy CSE or NITK Suratkal CSE, considering academics, campus and college life?

● Top Answer By Aaditya Hari Nair on 30 Aug 21

Ans. Aadhira Sanaya, studied at National Institute of Technology Karnataka, Surathkal (2020) Both of these institutes are considered the best NITs in the country. Comparing them is literally not justified, but still, let me provide some facts about both these institutes which you can later use as a reference for your selection.  NIT Trichy has a larger campus than NITK Surathkal. However, the facilities and development are particularly the same in both the institutes.  The climate of Surathkal is better than in Trichy.  Both NITK Surathkal and NIT Trichy have the best faculty and the pedagogy followed is highly research-oriented. The social life at either institute is extremely lively with several sports facilities, extracurricular activities, clubs, teams, and more.  In terms of the CSE department, the number of students actually placed from either institute remains almost head to head.  However, NIT Trichy still shares an upper hand since it has recorded the highest and average salary packages over the years. NIT Trichy collaborates with ISRO, DRDO, DTU, and many other research organizations that also provide massive funds for future projects.  NIT Trichy approximately has over 100 startups.  The alumni network is robust and supportive in both colleges. Categories CSE at NIT Trichy CSE at NIT Surathkal Course Fee 5.65 lakh 5.40 lakh Highest CTC 29-30 LPA 32 LPA Average CTC 17-18 LPA 18 LPA Recruiting Companies DE Shaw, Saint Gobain, ITC, Microsoft, etc. Goldman Sachs, Microsoft, Oracle, Myntra, etc. You should make an informed decision after considering the factors mentioned above. However, the points aforementioned clearly incline more toward NIT Trichy. In any case, both institutes come with their own reverence and prestige.Read more

Ques. Is BITS Goa better than NIT Suratkal?

● Top Answer By Admin on 25 Aug 21

Ans. BITS PILANI is a well-known institute for students who do not have good IIT or NIT scores. However, BITS GOA is not very good, and it will never be able to replace NIT Surathkal. NIT Surathkal is one of the top three NITs in the country. Trichy and Warangal are the other two. Surathkal is substantially better than Goa for getting a seat. It also has good placements and a good coding culture.  Here is a brief comparison of the two institutes. Parameters  BITS Goa NIT Surathkal  Average CTC  24 LPA  17 LPA  Highest CTC  43 LPA  43 LPA  Major recruiters  Microsoft, Oracle, Deloitte 09 Solutions, EXL Service, BYJU’s Compared to BITS Goa, NIT Surathkal is definitely a better option. Read more

Ques. Which is better, NIT Surathkal or NIT Calicut?

● Top Answer By Aaditya Hari Nair on 25 Aug 21

Ans. NIT Surathkal and NIT Calicut both are considered among the top NITs. According to the overall NIRF Ranking NIT Surathkal has been better than NIT Calicut. Having some friends studying in both these institutes, I can say that It totally depends on the aspect you are looking for.  Both of them are NIT and hence the degree value will be the same.  NIT Calicut has the better CSE department out of the two.  If you look at placement records, almost 95% of the students from NIT Calicut get placed with the best companies.  While almost 85% of students get placed in NIT Surathkal. If looking at the academic and placement criteria then NIT Calicut is better than NIT Surathkal.  The faculties are almost the same in both the institutes.  Categories NIT Surathkal NIT Calicut Course Fee 5.4 lakh 5.48 lakh Highest CTC 17 LPA 14-16 LPA Average CTC 9 LPA 6-7 LPA Recruiting Companies Cognizant, TCS, Wipro, IBM, etc. Infosys, Capgemini, Accenture, HP, etc. In terms of education and placement students prefer to go to NIT Calicut and hence it would be the better option of the two.Read more

Admission :

I attempted the GATE exam in 2018. I came up with a reasonably good score and went through the college selection process. NITK was one of my top preferred NITs. I got into NITK in the 2nd seat allotment round. Even after getting in, there were internal shifting between various courses.

Remarks :

Pretty good college with all the desirable facilities and a lovely environment WITH A BEACH!!!

Admission :

I qualified 2012 GATE. I took admission in system analysis and computer applications branch. I was looking for computer science stream but didn't get during counseling. Counseling was online. After allotment of college I visited the institute for admission. This institution was among top five of the Indian institution. so no problem in choosing the college.

Remarks :

Institute management is good. Generally there will not be such requirement to deal with management.

Remarks :

One of the best colleges in Karnataka, good placements and awesome campus. Among the engineering colleges in the state of Karnataka, NITK is the best no two questions about it. Only college to boast a private beach in its campus. The 300 plus acre campus is splendid, there's lot and lots of greenery, heads up get ready to walk alot :D. The infrastructure in college is average nothing very special about it, maybe private collegea provide better. Other important factor is your peers in college, because nits attract top minds from all over the country you'll get lot of exposure.

Admission :

We had Common Entrance Test for Engineering which was taken by MLNREC, Allahabad at that time 1985. At that time, 1985, there were 17 Regional Engineering Colleges and 50% of seats were being filled by Local state students and rest 50% from other states. I had qualified Common Entrance test conducted by REC Allahabad and opted Karnataka REC. Later on All RECs have been converted in to NITs.

Remarks :

Just Superb, Nothing Short of Supreme. It was a wonderful experience for those year I spent during 1985 - 1989. It is the only college ranked much upper from many IITs. I am proud that I had opportunity to get my Engineering from such a world class college.

Through JEE mains I got admission in this college. Firstly you have to go in college and do all process of admission. If you what join the college you have to pay your fee other than you can go for next counselling and can get better college. then you have to go to the college for further admission process.

Remarks :

College management is very good. College will provide a lot of fund for college festivals.
