Ans. An M.Tech in Polymer Science from CUSAT is a good option if you are planning your master’s and doctoral programs. It can offer you the hands-on experience of your subject. But the chances for the placements for the MTech student are very less from CUSAT. As most of the companies prefer BTech students rather than the students who completed their master’s degree i.e. MTech. M.Tech students do not get enough placement opportunities. If you go through the past placement records, you will see that only one or two companies allow MTech students. Although, in 2020, MRF tires have invited only MTech students for the 2021 placements. The industry also starting to recruit more M.Tech students as most BTech students after doing the job for almost two years pursue higher studies that in turn is a great loss to the company as the company spends long hours teaching them various skills to give their project a successful ending. So most of the companies are preferring students who have completed an MTech degree and are ready to work for their professional career only. This is a very big advantage to all the students pursuing MTech polymer sciences from CUSAT. You may know that in M.Tech the second year is project-based both in college as well as in the company you are pursuing your internship. If you can even show your efficiency, you may get recruited by the company, once you complete your master's degree. Ans. I have friends who pursued both IT and Mechanical from CUSAT and as per their experiences, both are equally good. Firstly, you need to understand what your pool of interest is. However, if you are open to both the courses without any specific choice, here are some insights for both the branches: IT at CUSAT: You can get better job opportunities in the IT field according to the placement stats of CUSAT, which is pretty common in most engineering colleges of India. If you choose IT, keep yourselves updated with IT through MOOCs or even paid diploma courses which will really help you in the future. Mechanical at CUSAT: Mechanical engineering consists of a whole gamut of software unlike IT which needs you to develop that particular software being. Here, mechanical will be super useful as leverage. At CUSAT, placement statistics for mechanical are also good but not better than IT. Ans. Amrita University has ranked 4th among the top engineering colleges by NIRF in 2020. Cochin University of Science and Technology has ranked 89th among the top engineering colleges by NIRF in 2020 and has been marked as an ‘A’ graded institution by NAAC. Both these universities have several advantages and each one of them has evolved in their own ways over the years. Both of them offer good facilities to their students, which is why it can get difficult to choose either one of them. However, in order to get over the dilemma about which one would be perfect for you, go through these points which will eventually help you make the final call. Admission: Amrita university- It offers MTech courses in various specializations, such as Cyber Security, Automotive Engineering, Computer Science and Engineering, Material Science and Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, etc. Admission to the MTech program is through GATE. For non-GATE qualified candidates, the selection is based on past academic records and personal interviews conducted by the University. Ans. The Fire and Safety Engineering Department is one of the best at CUSAT. As one of my friends studied there, I might be able to share some details which can help you with your question. This department has got good infrastructure along with good faculties. About 90% of the students of this branch get a good offer for a package. But this field is limited to getting a job, as most of the companies recruiting on-campus look for other colleges. The competition will be less as very few colleges offer this kind of branch. CUSAT is the best fire and safety branch in India. Feasible,MCA have two different types of fees according to your rank and allotted seat either 13000 per sem, or 32000 per sem, now coming to B.Tech there is also same structure follows. Marine engineering is expensive like 80000 per sem but placements are relatively high.

Hi Anargha, yes, candidates seeking admission in MBA can get admission on the basis of KMAT score. However, only those candidates who have passed graduation with an aggregate of 50% will be considered eligible for this course.
