Is there any management quota in SHUATS for a BSc in agriculture?

There are some direct admissions for students on the spot admission. Numerous students who don’t appear for the entrance exam take admission through backdoor admissions. One of my friends who were at SHUATS told me that in his class he had only 180 seats including ICAR seats but later he learned there were 216 IDs. However, this might not be true as there is officially no management quota at the institute. You should try to work hard and get a decent rank.

How is the food at SHUATS Allahabad?

The food at SHUATS is not good in terms of quality and students have often complained about it. Whether you are a foodie or no foodie you will not like it. In breakfast, they would serve you all the oily stuff things such as puri sabzi, sandwiches, etc. For lunch, you will only have chapatti sabzi dal. The lunchtime is only between 12:30 to 1:30 pm. And if in case you are late you will miss your lunch. For dinner, the situation is even worse. You will not get properly cooked veggies and might have to eat uncooked food sometimes. Except for food, other facilities are good at SHUATS and everyone just tries to cooperate with the situation.

Can I get an admission in SHUATS merit number 2310?

You can get admission in SHUATS at this rank but it depends on which branch you want to opt for. The cutoff, however, differs from branch to branch. In case, you are planning to take admission in the Agriculture branch then your rank should be below 200-300. For branches such as Dairy Tech, Food Tech you will require a rank below 1100 approximately. If you are planning for core branches then you can easily get admission if you have a rank nearby 3000 and in some other branches, you can get admission even at 5000 rank. How is SHUATS Allahabad for a BBA?

SHUATS Allahabad is not good for a generalized BBA but if you are looking for a BBA in the agriculture or dairy area then you can go for it. The environment and the infrastructure of the institute are not good. It is not suitable for either MBA or BBA. SHUATS is popular for agriculture, horticulture, dairy technology, food technology, and forestry. The courses pertaining to B.Tech are also not bad but if you want to pursue BBA here, make sure you pursue MBA, if that is in your plans, from a good institute.

How good is the infrastructure of SHUATS and what type of students standard are there in SHUATS?

In SHUATS, you can find students from all across the country and even students from foreign countries such as Bhutan, Nepal, Afghanistan, Russia, and students from some African countries. The environment of the college has a lot of greenery and the food provided by the cafés is also not bad. The institute also has a chapel which is not mandatory for the students to attend. It is completely optional. There is also a shop for the students close to the girls’ hostel. It is very secure as safety is a priority. The environment is also very calm and there is also a café that serves organic food. Next to SIET, there is the department of B.Ed. It is closer to gate number 3. On the way towards SIET you will see a field where the students of agriculture work. Moving on, you will come across the water resource department, farming, and the department of agriculture. Followed by that, there is the biotech department and the NCC. There are two sports fields on opposite sides. Towards gate number 1, there is the dairy college of SHUATS. You will also see the hostel for the boys. You will find the department of accounts as well as the auditorium which usually holds indoor sports or counseling during admission. Finally, opposite the library, there is the convocation field. Next to the convocation field, there is the central canteen. This is a basic overview of SHUATS.

Sam Higginbottom University of Agriculture, Technology, and Sciences (SHUATS), Allahabad was established in 1910. The institute was formerly known as the Allahabad Agricultural Institute. An esteemed university, SHUATS has the honor of being the first agricultural university of India and the first such institute in south-east Asia. The mission of SHUATS is to “Serve the Land” and “Feed the Hungry”.

SHUATS is NAAC accredited with an ‘A’ grade and also categorized by MHRD, Govt. of India as ‘A’. The university was approved by UGC in 2000 and by ICAR and ICFRE in 2009. The university was founded by Dr. Sam Higginbottom, a former teacher of economics and science, a social worker who had the aim of bridging the gulf between modern farming technologies and the backward practices of the farmers.
