What students say about School of Open Learning, University of Delhi - [SOLDU]

Likes

  • All faculty members are well qualified and have a Doctorate of Philosophy from a recognized university in India, and their teaching method is excellent.
  • As per my knowledge, this college does not provide any type of internship. The motive of the college is to provide the best education to create qualified individuals. That is why the college does not offer any type of internship.
  • Give the best opportunity by campus that provides the best facility to their students.
  • The fee is nominal, and the fee policy is the colleges best policy.
  • Im a correspondence student, so I dont know about the idea of sports activity in my college. However, the gender ratio is the best in my college. There is also a canteen facility in the college, which is good for all the students.
  • My friends who have opted for the hostel say that the food there is very good and the infrastructure is also good.
  • Eligible is the 12th pass with a minimum of 50% marks in commerce, and the application can be found on Sarkari Naukri.com. The application fees are 4500, and the dates for application are in April or August. There has been a significant improvement in the admission process.

Dislike

  • They are even very rude, and whenever you ask for help, they will just say that you should try to find it yourself.
  • The worst thing is that they actually dont provide internships. You can only obtain a degree from them. Dont expect to get an internship from them; you can gain experience from outside.
  • In my college, placements and job opportunities are one section on which college management has to focus.
  • Scholarships were provided by the campus, and I did not receive any financial assistance job or a replacement on the campus or in the college.
  • The classrooms are also not well maintained, and there are no sports or extracurricular activities provided for Sols student social group. Neither is there any club or website that caters to students.
  • Since we dont have to attend college, there is no need for hostels, PGs, accommodations, or mess food. We have none of them.
  • The classes that are provided are very limited. There are very few classes, which is not appropriate to complete the entire course.

I chose this course because my favorite subject is political science and I want to build a career in political science that's why I chose the course and teaching method is very good and all teachers were attentive to all students.

Remarks:

The admission process was only without any entrance exam, the course Bachelor of Arts in political science, and my fee structure of 30k per course. and the teachers pay a lot of attention and there are internships and other types of activities.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I'm being from a commerce background so I opt for BCom and my main focus is on the CMA course. I visit every Sunday for the classes of BCom where only students who are from SOL open, their classes are conducted. the facility is the best there, teachers are very helpful asking queries and solutions. Although the exams are easy up to my study level and now I will appear in the 4th semester in June 2023.

Remarks:

The admission process was online based, no entrance exam was taken. Just fill the ed the form from the DU SOL website and now I'm in 2nd year. and going to appear in the 4th semester in June 2023. I'm pursuing the BCOM program at the university and I'm pursuing a CMA course by side I'm at the intermediate level at this time.

Course Curriculum Overview:

According to my future goals and so on. There is huge faculty about student benefits like Books, Support material, etc. In Correspondence, you just have carried a 10+2 degree from CBSE or any other. There is an alternative class on Sat and Sun. The faculty provided to us is all really good.

Remarks:

Eligibility of the course completed 10 + 2 from CBSE or any others. You can apply it from on DU official website's. The fee criteria are just according to your course ex B. A Progg you just have to pay 4800 per year, This is for correspondence. I just want to see one improvement which is giving information about any activities by mail or sms.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I choose this because of my further career studies. The Faculty of the School Of Open Learning is not bad though all the faculty members are well qualified. Sol conducts 2-semester exams in 1 year and has a 3-year graduation course for a total of 6 semesters. If you study on regular basis then exams are not tough.

Remarks:

The admission process to the School Of Open Learning is very easy. You don't have to give any entrance or any other exam you don't have to clear cut off. You just have to register at the School Of Open Learning and after registration, you just have to select the course and pay the fees.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I took the course as I had to complete my graduation while I was doing a full-time job as well. There are others, especially from Commerce who take up courses from ICAI and simultaneously do graduation from SOL. So for students like myself, SOL provides great opportunities to learn and not lose valuable 3 years of life. All faculties are those who teach regular college students. You will be assigned a centre and will have weekly classes. Classes are not compulsory but highly recommended as you can get important information about exams. and how to score well in exams. Most importantly, the exams were held timely even during the pandemic. This was not so with other open universities, say IGNOU where owing to inefficient management syllabus was compiled and exams of multiple semesters were held in one go which led to the failure of numerous students and wastage of their significant years. You can visit the SOL office or contact them online to get your queries solved.

Remarks:

The admission process was very smooth. You need to have passed 12th or equivalent to get admission to the course. Application forms and all can easily be accessed on the website. You can also visit the office of SOL, DU which is in close proximity to Vishvavidyalaya Metro Station.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I took this course bcom hons in sol du because I am currently pursuing CA. The faculty ratio with students is not the best but ok. We are allowed to go to the allotted colleges on Sunday only for the classes. Teachers are the same for sol and for the regular du colleges. Exams are nota a big issue here, the exams are easy to pass

Remarks:

There is no entrance test for getting admission in the School of open learning Delhi university The application form is available on the website of sol du itself. The application fee for all programs is between 250 and 500rs for all students.

Placement Experience:

Placement cell and job opportunities are also very good as the higher the students marked in their semester it will be directly appointed by the head and received the best packages offered by them and their lives get settled and the least marked students have to do their own. The average package is 2-3 lakh per annum. You can check the placement section on the sol website.

Remarks:

Admission process is very simple. You can apply for admission online or offline. There are 2 SOL offices one near vishwavidyalaya metro station and other in the south. There are not any entrance exams for admission in school. This is one of the best thing in sol that there is no cutoff unlike regular colleges. For bachelors, you need to 12th pass out and minimum 45% in your academics.
