What students say about Shaheed Bhagat Singh College - [SBSC]

Likes

  • Courses offered by the colleges are well known with excellent mode of study
  • Infrastructure and the amenities that the college provide is the best
  • The library of the college is one of the best library.
  • Sports facilities were also very good and all type of sports are being played.
  • Canteen of the college is very good with affordable and tasty food items.
  • The sports room offer every equipment also field is very good
  • Library is very good and sports field is also well maintained

Dislike

  • Maths honours is not one of those courses in which we get placement opportunities, but a few companies did come. However, the placements and internships were unofficial, so I didnt take part in them.
  • Placements are provided by SBSC, but the placement ratios here are not good, even though the average placement is 4 lacs, which is very low in my opinion.
  • The students from very poor backgrounds can have their academic fees waived upon proper investigation.
  • There is only one large ground present in the college where you can play any sport you want.
  • The college does not have a hostel facility, nor is the mess fees very low at 6-7K for a year, as it is a government college.
  • The college does not have a hostel, so students from outside Delhi have to rent expensive rooms in nearby areas.

Placement Experience:

From sem 5 you will be eligible for placement, and a lot of companies approach the college. Many big companies like Accenture, Deloitte, etc. You can have the highest package of more than 20 lacks if you are able to make it. yaa, if you perform a bit you be placed.

Remarks:

It was merit-based and the best of 4 of your 12th will be calculated. The application can be found on the official Delhi university web page. The application fee earlier was 400 but now as the CUET is conducting the entrance exam for admission into DU so the application fee is 800. Yaa, there is a reservation for admission as well as an application fee.

Placement Experience:

Eligible to get placement after the 4th semester they can apply to various companies also job fair is organised which is called Rojgar Mela. Campus for bathing placements to various students KPMG Deloitte are the most prominent companies with a recruit in a higher mass from the college as auditing sales marketing financing different posts are available. Where reported this week for companies around 500 students are placed this year. The highest package goes to 1900000 and the lowest package is 350000 average packages 450000. The percentage of students getting placement is an average of 85%. I opted for CMA with B.com hons for my future career

Remarks:

Eligibility for the b.com hons in our college is you have to take one language subject + accountancy /mathematics + any two subjects in CUET. CUET forms find on nta website where you can apply at the cost of rs.1200. Application forms are available after January every year for one month. I m availed of the OBC reservation that why I got admission with 650 marks otherwise for the general category it goes to 750. No, I don't want any improvement in the admission process because it is fully online and the process is very crystal clear.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I'd say the number of faculty members is pretty high, considering that I currently have a subject that has 3 teachers, which honestly, is not great, because it breaks our flow of understanding the subject, also, it's not like all teachers teach up to the mark, there are in fact just 2 teachers that do so. Faculty has been allotted subjects that they don't usually teach, leading to them not teaching nicely.

Remarks:

A person is required to be a 10+2 pass for giving the CUET entrance exam which is now required for admission in Delhi University. I got admission under ECA category which is the Extracurricular Activities category. The college had 1-2 seats reserved for ECA category for debating, I applied for it, went through competition rounds regarding the same and then got admission.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Course curriculum was very hard because we have to learn new subjects VAC, SEC, and AEC with my core subjects. it became hard to handle this. Faculty in truth is not that great they are not making that much effort in teaching us, especially our accounts teacher is awfully bad at teaching.

Remarks:

I took an entrance exam called cuet the admission process was very time-consuming as admission was very late. You can give the entrance exam just by passing class 12. If any improvement I want to see is to get less time-consuming.

Placement Experience:

Colleges provide campus placements and also a good package but the number of placements is very less in comparison to the number of students. The percentage of students who get placement is very less. I want to be an entrepreneur and plan to start my career after graduation till then I am looking for an internship that helps me to get exposure and learn how the industry works and helps me identify opportunities in them.

Remarks:

Eligibility for admission was 12th pass with 60 % and in addition to it we have to give an entrance exam named CUET ( Central University Entrance Test ). The application form can be easily found on the CUET website ( i.e, cuet.samarth.ac.in ).

Course Curriculum Overview:

In our college the faculty is very good. I have chosen BCom(Hons.) Corse because i wanted to MBA after my graduation and want to work as finance manager of the company. So that this course will help me to get the knowledge of finance i.e. from where to get finance, where to use it and how to use it.

Placement Experience:

After semester 4 students can go for placements in the placement cell. Many companies visit our college annually like KPMG, PWC, Deloitte, Accenture, and ZS Associates to provide placements. The average package is INR 4.69LPA. The highest package is INR 10LPA. about 60% of students got placements who opted for placements. My plan after completing my degree is to do a job for one-two year and after that, I will do MBA.

Remarks:

Prior to 2022, admission was based on the merit of class 12th. But after that, the central government introduced an entrance exam for admissions. Common university entrance test(CUET) was introduced and from now onwards cuet will be conducted every year for entrance to government colleges like Delhi University. Application form(6 April-26 June) of cuet was released by NTA(National test agency) which cost me ? 1300 at that time. After the exam was conducted, and the result was declared then students have to register on the DU website for further admission process costing. 550. College was allotted to students according to preferences and marks in CUET. There were many reservation benefits like OBC, ST, and SC. I was allowed Shaheed Bhagat Singh College. The admission process was very long actually and our colleges started on 2nd November.
