Ques. Which college is better for an MCA, DU or NIT Trichy?

● Top Answer By Aaditya Hari Nair on 31 Aug 21

Ans. Most candidates will go for NIT Trichy for an MCA because it has a better quality of education in terms of this course. NIT Trichy is more inclined towards the courses where you need to apply your technical and professional skills. In case of the University of Delhi (DU), however, is selective about the courses it offers. It offers specific academic and some professional courses. The scope of placements in NIT Trichy is very good and the environment of the campus offers a good atmosphere for the students to study. The coursework involves presentations, assignments, tests, etc. NIT Trichy is one of the best NITs in India and the placements are also top-notch. MCA course at DU is UGC approved while all the courses offered by NIT Trichy are approved by the AICTE.Read more

Ques. What is it like to do English Hons from Delhi University?

● Top Answer By Komal Chawla on 25 Oct 21

Ans. If you are a reading enthusiast and loves to write with a great hold of Grammar, go for English Hons. You should not choose this as your 2nd option because the course is very hectic and requires a lot of concentration and interest.  English Hons is often misunderstood only with British Literature which is not true. You will be reading literature around the world including American, African, European, and Indian.  You must be regular to lectures as they are highly recommended. The faculty at Delhi University for this course is exceptional and their teachings should not be missed. You may find everything online but attending classes has its own advantages.  You will definitely enjoy your experience in the classes while interacting with teachers. It is important to note that your attendance will play a major role in internal assessment.Read more

Ques. What is the difference between a BSc (Hons) from Delhi University and a BSc (Hons) from Doon University?

● Top Answer By Janvi Bhambri on 21 Apr 21

Ans. BSc (Hons.) at Delhi University and Doon University have several pros and cons in themselves. Both are esteemed institutions, with some differences in the campus environment, facilities provided, etc. The points below are a quick comparison in several matters related to the institutes. Faculty: Delhi University has an excellent faculty base when compared to Doon University. Teachers in Delhi University are mostly Ph.D. holders and are having years of experience.  In Doon University, professors are mostly quite inexperienced. Even professors of Doon University teach irrelevant topics that are of no use in the current industrial standards. There are few good teachers at Doon University, but the count is quite less in number. Peers: In Doon University, the surrounding peers are generally found non-serious and time-wasting wards. The reason behind this type of student base is the simple admission test, which is quite easy to pass. Most students at Doon University are found to waste their valuable time on useless stuff. But, there are quite a few exceptions where students are found to be serious at Doon University too. Students in Delhi University are some of the most serious students in Delhi, where there is a good peer-to-peer learning opportunity. Students here are found to be serious about their future, preparing for government exams or higher studies. Environment: When it comes to the environment, Doon University is a clear winner. The campus of Doon University is covered with lush greenery and ample nature all around. There is almost no traffic near Doon University, thus causing no air or noise pollution. The North Campus of Delhi University is situated in an extremely polluted place, with no greenery inside the campus. Competitive Exams and Placement: At Doon University, there is an excellent peaceful atmosphere and ample time for preparation of competitive exams like UPSC, SSC, or CDS. For exams related to higher study like JAM, GATE, etc, Doon University is a good option.  For placements, Delhi University is the right choice. There is no separate placement cell for B.Sc in Doon University. Students from Doon University need to sit for pool placement that takes place in nearby universities. Considering laboratories and other facilities, Delhi University is on a slightly higher side. Overall, for students interested in higher studies or government job-related exams, Doon University is a good option. But for students looking after a good placement, peers, faculty, and city-life, Delhi University is definitely a better option. Considering research-related works, both the universities are not suitable in this regard.Read more

Ques. What are some disadvantages of pursuing a B.Com P instead of a B.Com Hons from Delhi University?

● Top Answer By Aaditya Hari Nair on 29 Sept 21

Ans. The courses B.Com (pass) and B.Com (honors) do not have a massive difference in the range of advantages and disadvantages.  The subjects studied in B.Com (honors) are in great detail and have practical approaches that become a huge boost when you go for post-graduation like MBA, M.Com, and such.  Even at the time of placement, usually, the companies recruit a candidate with B.Com (honors) rather than B.Com (pass).  You also get to specialize in certain subjects in B.Com (honors) degree whereas B.Com (pass) only gives you an overview.  If you wish to just get graduation and focus on your other competitive exams or some professional course then you can opt for B.Com (pass) in DU since the course will not be very tough and the approach is very theoretical.  Any degree earned from DU has a reputation of its own. It is also mandatory to have studied Maths if you apply for B.Com (honors) unlike B.Com (pass). Read more

Ques. Which is the best college in Delhi University for BA Economics Honours?

● Top Answer By Aaditya Hari Nair on 29 Sept 21

Ans. A lot of my friends studied at Delhi University. According to them it is a really good institution and is preferred by both local and outstation students. The colleges in Delhi University are all equally good since the curriculum and syllabus are set centrally.  The faculties are all very educated and qualified in all the colleges.  Even the exam is conducted at the university level.  BA Economics honors are the most demanding and prestigious course in DU. Therefore, you require a higher percentage if you belong to the unreserved category.  Try to score above 90% to get into DU and above 95% to get into good colleges of DU. In the end, it all depends on your score.  The colleges are more or less the same. The only aspect in which the colleges differ is placement. There are certain colleges were some good companies come to recruit students and you can expect a good-paying job from them. These include St. Stephen’s College, Shri Ram College of Commerce, Lady Shri Ram College, Hansraj College, Hindu College. Read more

Ques. What is the difference between the Delhi school of economics and Delhi university in perspective form ma in economics?

● Top Answer By Siripuram Akash on 05 Sept 20

Ans. Delhi School of Economics is a highly sought after college for MA in Economics which is affiliated to DU. However, DSE is not the only college under DU that offers a MA in Economics. There are few other colleges like St. Stephen College, Shri Ram College of Commerce, Hindu College, Hans Raj College, etc that also offer MA programs in Economics. The entrance exam for the program at DSE is the same as the rest which is conducted by DU. Candidates get selected to DSE or other DU colleges based on the merit list formed by DU. However, the career prospect and placement opportunities at DSE is better than the rest. The placement rate of DSE is around 80-90% each year and the average CTC range between 6-10 LPA.Read more

Eligibility criteria for the same is mentioned below: 65% if you are from the B.Com (Honors) course. 70% if you are from the B.Com course. Have further bifurcations for the non-creamy layer. Second, which is purely based on the entrance. Eligibility: 50% for B. Com (Honors) 55% for B. Com (Pass) or B.Com (Degree) 50% for B.A. (Hons.) Economics 60% for B.B.S., B.B.A., B.I.F.A., and B.B.E. Ques. What should I choose between Pondicherry University, JNU, DU for MA philosophy? Why? Which is more economical?

● Top Answer By Aaditya Hari Nair on 27 Sept 21

Ans. One of my friends graduated from Pondicherry University and having read online reviews of the alumni here are some things you should know about them.  If you are entering into the humanities stream, the top place in JNU. While DU is a fine university, it does not compete with JNU overall. If you want to study economics and English literature, either opt for JNU or DU because both of them have great departments in these fields.  JNU provides a great learning atmosphere. JNU is good in all respects. Pondicherry University is a good university, but it is nowhere near JNU or DU.Read more

Ques. Should I do a BBE from Delhi University or bachelors in economics from Delhi School of Economics?

● Top Answer By Ayan Dey on 21 Jan 21

Ans. The point which needs to be addressed at first is that Delhi School of Economics doesn't provide any BA Economics course as of now. Though, many of the other colleges under Delhi University offer this course. The admission procedure starts with the evaluation of the performance in 12th standard boards. Both BA Economics and Bachelors in Business Economics (BBE) indeed provide great career opportunities. Though, few factors need to be considered before making a choice. Here are some of the factors mentioned below. Firstly, the question arises in the mind is about the enjoyment one gets while practicing maths. If the answer is no, then it is highly recommended to go for BBE as BA Economics includes a lot of maths. Secondly, it is regarding the interest in learning about the working of economy or functioning of a business. Students keen to learn about the working of economy should opt for BA Economics while students interested to know about the functioning of business may opt for BBE. Then it is about the future aspirations. If you are interested in research, teaching, and academics then opt for BA Economics. Though, both BBE and BA Economics are suitable options for those who are heading towards the corporate sector. Finally it is your decision to shape the future. You need to be certain about your future goals. If you are opting to pursue MBA, you can go for any of the two courses available. Though, students who are willing to pursue MA in economics, should definitely pursue BA Economics without any doubts.Read more
